The event in a few words

If I say “ 1984 â€, what do you think of? The more literary among you will surely mention the novel by George Orwell
📚 As for sports fans, that year might remind you of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games! đŸ‡ș🇾 And yet, in FrĂ©jus, in the Var, in the Provence-Alpes-CĂŽte d’Azur region, another international-scale event was taking place: the first edition of the MTB race Roc D’Azur with
 7 participants! 😉

Held at the beginning of October, the Roc d’Azur quickly became the world’s leading MTB event đŸš”‍♂ and today brings together everyone involved in cycling and mountain biking. In fact, there are now more than 20,000 participants lining up at the start of the various races offered each year! That said, for some time now the organizers have been diversifying and also putting on trail runs and hikes in order to showcase this wonderful discipline 🙏. This year, you’re offered no fewer than 5 trail routes (14.6 km, 24.8 km, 29.9 km, 42.1 km and 51 km) as well as 3 walks (6.7 km, 11.6 km and 16.1 km)! đŸƒâ€â™‚ïž

Ready to be amazed? 1, 2, 3
Open your eyes wide, take a deep breath, you’re in the Var! 😍 Admire the sublime oak and pine forests đŸŒČ, the lakes and rivers 🏞, the vine-growing plains , the coastal trails, the natural parks , and of course the Mediterranean Sea
🌊 What’s more, the weather here is ideal since the Var totals around 300 days of sunshine a year! This department is truly a runner’s paradise! ☀ No wonder it’s the second most touristic in France! The Roc d’Azur will let you discover this department and its villages. You’ll discover: FrĂ©jus, an ancient Roman town with an incredible architectural heritage on the Mediterranean coast, as well as Roquebrune-sur-Argens a charming little thousand-year-old village by the water, and also Saint-RaphaĂ«l and Sainte-Maxime ! â˜ïž

The routes are ultra varied! đŸłïžâ€đŸŒˆ You’ll run along some charming southern trails, paths along the beach, and you’ll discover magnificent small sun-drenched Mediterranean coves! 🏖 So you won’t even notice the kilometers ticking by, we promise! Moving from the sea 🌅 to the mountains ⛰, without forgetting the Provençal forests
The variety of landscapes will make you forget the effort! You’ll also take advantage of these magnificent routes to discover the Massif des Maures or the Massif de l’EstĂ©rel ⛰, two mountain ranges with surprising landscapes characterized by limestone and red rocks, with steep reliefs that give the scenery a special charm that won’t leave you indifferent—we guarantee it! đŸ€ž In addition to the sports program, the Roc d’Azur hosts every year the largest free MTB expo open to everyone đŸš”â€â™‚ïž. It also offers numerous activities showcasing various disciplines in the world of cycling.

And what do we do after the race? If you don’t know the Var, we recommend you go and discover the Gorges du Verdon! 🌅 Located in the heart of the Verdon Regional Natural Park, this river offers an impressive landscape shaped by erosion! The canyon of course boasts exceptional biodiversity thanks to the meeting of Alpine and Mediterranean climates 🌊. If you’re brave, you can even go for a swim, take a canoe-kayak đŸ›¶ ride, a pedal boat đŸš€ or go rafting! 🌊 Also, if after this trail you want to discover a typical village in the Var, we instead suggest heading to the village of Bormes-Les-Mimosas, a picturesque, flower-filled Provençal village. Its coastline offers very beautiful beaches and is home to the famous Fort de BrĂ©gançon
 a must-visit in the region!

So, ready for this outing? đŸŽ¶

“ Elegant as CĂ©ladon, Agile as Scaramouche, I warn you, dear Myrmidon, that at the end of the sending I run! â€ đŸƒâ€â™‚ïž
