Marathon de Stavanger
Iron Man, Captain America 🦸♂️, Hulk or Thor 🔨, all these superheroes have become stars! ⭐ But would you say to become the greatest star of the Avenger? 😎 To do so, you will need to don your best race bib 🎽 and cross the finish line of a marathon 🏁, but not just any marathon: the Stavanger Marathon! 📍 It's in the fourth largest city of Norway 🏙️ that you will face your trial by fire 🔥 to have your name etched in legend ✒️. Between city, park, lakes and seaside 🏞️, you will have to brave some elevation to conquer this road race! 🛣️ But at the start of the Cathedral ⛪, the atmosphere will be such that it will give you wings! 🪽
And if you don’t feel ready to tackle the 42.195 km of the marathon, don't worry, that won't cancel your mission 😉. On a half-marathon or 5 km, you can also prove what you are capable of! 💪 You can also complete the relay marathon with a team of 10 superheroes! 🤝 So bring your best team 👑. And eyes wide open, because it's in the Norwegian fjords that you will be immersed (though not literally in the water, you are not starting a triathlon 🏊). This region of Norway, besides being the heart of the country's oil industry 🛢️, boasts natural landscapes and monuments that will leave you speechless 😮. But don't linger too long, you still have a race to complete! 😂 Plus, at the finish, you will pass to the other side of the barrier to cheer on the next Avengers: young mini-superheroes 🧒 will also be present! A multitude of little legs will tackle a 440 m loop around the Cathedral, amid the cheers of enthusiastic supporters! 🎉 What's good to know is that in addition to being festive, this event is charitable! 🎗️ By getting your race number, you support the 'Hospital Clowns' association which helps children and youth enjoy life and overcome a difficult day at the hospital 🫶. A real superhero through and through! 👟
After your performance, take the time to discover Stavanger and its surroundings 🚶➡️. Stroll through Old Stavanger and its cobblestone streets lined with white wooden houses, typical of the area 🏘️. It's an opportunity to be completely disoriented! 😍 To learn more about the history of this city and its significance in the oil industry, the Petroleum Museum will open its doors to you! 🤗 If you haven't seen enough fjords during your race and want more, you can go to Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock), an hour's drive 🚗. This magnificent rocky plateau offers a panoramic view of the Lysefjord 🪨. A well-deserved reward after the effort of the race! 😲 Plus, you can accompany this trip with a delicious fish specialty, typical of Norway 🐟. You need to regain your strength after such an achievement, right? 😏
