The event in a few words

Get ready for one of the most demanding, yet also the most rewarding sports formats. SwimRun KONO in Iława isn’t just an ordinary race – it’s a symbiosis with the nature of Lake Jeziorak and the Masurian forests. Forget transition zones; here you swim in shoes and run in a wetsuit, repeatedly switching between land and water. Iława, with its shoreline and numerous islands, is practically a dream arena for this discipline. 🌊🌲 The course runs along the shores of Lake Jeziorak and through wild forest paths. The lake water is clean, and the entry and exit points can be sandy or grassy, adding a trail-like character.

After you come out of the lake and complete the final running stage, Iława offers excellent spots to recover:

The promenade on Little Jeziorak: This is the city’s social heart. The perfect place for a cool-down walk along modern piers. Numerous benches and cafés overlooking the water will let you rest while still feeling close to nature. 🍦☕

Wielka Żuława Island: Since you’ve already spent the whole day in and by the water, you can take the ferry to one of Poland’s largest inland islands. It’s an oasis of calm where, in the shade of trees, your muscles will find well-deserved relaxation. 🏝️🚤

Iława “Węgle” at the Port: Restaurants in the Iława marina serve great fish dishes, but also hearty pasta and burgers—exactly what you’ll need after SwimRun. The view of yachts gently rocking on the water soothes the nerves, too. 🐟🍝

City Park in Iława: Wide, shady avenues near the center are a good place for some light stretching. You can find a moment to breathe right in the middle of the city, surrounded by old trees. 🌳🧘‍♂️

Municipal pool and SPA: If after battling the open lake you’re dreaming of warm chlorinated water or a sauna to warm up your joints and muscles, Iława’s municipal sports facilities are at your disposal. 🏊‍♂️🧖‍♂️

SwimRun KONO is an event for those who aren’t afraid to get their shoes wet and want to feel the wildness of Western Masuria. Ready to see how fast you can switch from a running stride to freestyle? 🏁
