This race takes place in Île-de-France and you can be sure it will be a challenge 🏃.
It's in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, in the south of the greater Paris area where the pavement of the Génovéfaine 👟 awaits you. No metro 🚊 or RER to get from start to finish here; you'll be getting around on "Double-Foot BM" 👣. The waterways of the Orge and the Boëlle cut through the urban buildings and bring a natural charm to the small commune of Essonne 🏘️.
Regarding the courses, the choice is yours: individual effort or shared effort? 🔗 This way, you can get motivated and bring your partner or best friend along for the adventure 😝. Whatever your decision, you'll cover 10 km of asphalt through the city. And yes, just because we're in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, doesn't mean you have to run in the forest 🌳. Moreover, Île-de-France is quite known for its rather flat profile ✅. No need to worry about elevation or any hills encountered. Stay focused on your performance, and be as consistent as possible, as that's what will lead you to victory (or at least your personal victory 🏆). It's the perfect route to smash that PR that has been teasing you for years. If you'd rather take your place to test your practice: the distance is also ideal. Neither too long nor too short 📏, just enough to develop that famous "come back for more" taste that drives all runners crazy 🤪. And the organizers can't stress it enough, but the goal is above all for all audiences to participate. So "don't worry, be happy" 🧘. To top it all off 👑, the race starts on Friday evening at 8 p.m.. You can therefore release all your workweek stress and be in perfect shape for the 48 hours of discoveries to follow 🎒.
Once you've exhausted yourself chasing kilometers, take time to catch your breath and decide what you want to do with the relaxing weekend that awaits you? 🤔 If you wish to continue exploring, but focus more on developing your brain than your legs 🦵, know that you are less than 30 minutes away by RER from the splendid city of Paris (maybe we're a bit biased 👀). In terms of culture, you'll find plenty to keep you busy for 48 hours ⏱️. The Louvre Museum, the Musée d'Orsay or the Rodin Museum just to name the most famous 🏺: choose your exhibit! In terms of historical heritage, you're also well served: the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe, or the Eiffel Tower 🗼, we don't need to remind you, but these are architectural wonders to see at least once in your life ⭐️. Wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity? However, if the City of Light seems too gray and urbanized 🧱, enjoy the natural environment you're in 🌱. Close to the race, you'll find the Lake in Essonne and the Lake of Arbalète 🛶, where you can stroll freely and reflect. By moving further east of the city, you'll also come across the Forest of Sénart, where you can take a mountain bike 🚵, a trail or a hike 🥾. Finally, if you really want to immerse yourself in a deep forest 🧌, you can head to Fontainebleau, home to a château as spectacular as its surrounding forest 🪵.
So, whether you're in search of a record, or simply a 48-hour getaway, our good friend Sainte-Geneviève (of the Woods) will guide your steps and fill your happiness 😊.
