Come drop your bags in the Gaspésie, at the very end of Quebec 🇨🇦, where the sea and mountains share intimate moments 😉. For a fourth electric edition, we invite you to participate in the Ultra Trail Forillon 😎. The trails (and there are many) take place in Forillon National Park and offer a wide range of choices so that all runners can find their happiness! 🌳
Over 3 days of the event, you can choose between several distances that will give you more or less soreness. Let's start with the beginning, that is, with the ultra trails 🔥: at Camping des Appalanches, there will be a 55 km and 1,900 mD+ in a straight line, at Pointe à la Renommée, a 110 km, which starts to really sting with its 3,400 mD+ 🧨. But if you want even more, you can always register for the 160 km, with 5,350 mD+ that will drain all your energy! 🔋 For those who prefer classic trail formats 💫, there are 5 other more accessible distances: A 45 km with 1,460 mD+ that comes close to ultra-trails without breaking your legs 🦵, a 25 km and 900 mD+ that starts to pat you on the back and otherwise there's also a 15 km, 11 km, and 6 km for those who like fast and efficient races 💨. If you are still undecided, no problem, we'll split the difference and now propose; the stage races! The Ultra Trail de Forillon organizes 4 trails to run over 3 days! 🎽 They all bear the acronym TF, which stands for Trans Forillon. The toughest is the TF100, there are also TF75 and after that, there's TF50 and TF25. Well, with all that you're sure to find your happiness! 🤯
Between the tourist activities and the local heritage, you're going to enjoy yourself! 🤠 So take the time to put down your sneakers, recover a bit, and explore Forillon National Park! 🤿 You can embark on an extraordinary adventure to maybe spot the largest of the cetaceans, the whale! 🐋 Expeditions are organized by boat 🚤 off the coast of Gaspésie! But no need to rent a large ship to have fun, many activities like kayaking are just as fun 🛶 and also allow you to share moments with your loved ones! 🤝 If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, you can opt for a visit to the Cap de l'Espoir Lighthouse! 🔦
So ready to take on one of the challenges? 🗝️
Starting from the Harbor of the Little Valley, you set off for 160 km of trail and 5,350 m D+, this is the most demanding distance of the event, taking place in the heart of the Forillon National Park💐. On an ultra-trail like this, it’s better to divide the kilometers, so you'll have 4 segments:
Arriving at Grande Grave, well done, the 160 km are completed 😌.
110 km and 3,400 mD+, yes, it's a very challenging trail that's planned! 📅 With all these kilometers, you'd better break it all down:
Clearly, the finish line is showing itself, 110 km completed, congratulations! 🤩
55 km and 1,900 mD+ that's a challenge 💥. In one go, your route will be in the middle of nature, with beautiful viewpoints 🏞️.
You will start near the Fox River, and delve into the forest 🌳. Along the way, you'll encounter many bodies of water and at the 14th kilometer, the first refreshment stop will give you some energy ⚡️. In the middle of the Forillon National Park, you'll take the Crest Trail, passing by the Crest campground and more lakes 🛶. After passing the summit of Mount Saint Alban, at Cap Bon Ami, km 37 will be enlivened by a beautiful view and a good refreshment 🍏.
To end on a high note, you'll continue to the south of Gaspé Peninsula, heading all the way down to Cap Gaspé, where you'll have a magnificent view 😍. With this last refreshment stop called "The end of the world" 🌎, it's not the time to get lost, but to chain the last kilometers, to reach the finish line 🏁.
It's time for the final sprint, which you'll perform along the coastline, to reach Grande Grave with a well-deserved finish 🤩.
45 km, a little more than a marathon and with some added elevation, precisely 1,460 mD+ 📈. Start at the level of the Penouille Peninsula. Don't worry given the size, you'll cross it quite quickly ⚡️. You'll take the Taiga, a small trail that will lead you between the Penouille Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, to reach the Gaspé Peninsula.
At km 5 you will have your 1st refreshment point, at the Ridge Trail 🍏. Right in the heart of the Forillon nature reserve, you'll pass by the Ridge campsite, before reaching your second feast: the "Laurencelle ascent refreshment", at km 17 💥. You'll continue on the mountains for about 10 km, before reaching Cap Bon Ami 📍. And as its name suggests, it will most certainly be your good friend, as it offers you a snack break, with a beautiful view of Cap Bon Ami🏞️.
To finish on a high note, you'll continue south of the Gaspé Peninsula, to go all the way down to Cap Gaspé, where you'll have a magnificent landscape 😍. With this last refreshment point named "The End of the World" 🌎, it's not the time to get lost, but to tackle the last kilometers to reach the finish line 🏁.
The time for the final sprint has come, along the coast, you'll reach Grande Grave, with a well-deserved arrival 🤩.
This time, it will be a bit more than a half marathon, so you'll set off for a trail of 25 km with 900 mD+ ⚡️. You'll start at Grande Grave, heading towards the Mont Saint Alban trail, which will lead you into the heart of nature, towards its summit.
The Mont Saint-Alban beneath your feet, take a moment to admire the landscape before reaching your 1st refreshment point, at Cap Bon Ami 🍫. And as its name suggests, it will certainly be your good friend, offering you a snack break with a beautiful view of the Cap Bon Ami 🏞️.
To finish on a high note, you'll continue to the south of the Gaspésie, reaching all the way down to Cap Gaspé, where you'll have a magnificent view 😍. With this last refreshment point named "The end of the world" 🌎, it's not the time to get lost, but to tackle the final kilometers, to reach the finish line 🏁.
The time for the final sprint has come, along the coastline, you'll reach Grande Grave, with a well-deserved finish 🤩.
What could be better than a good 15 km trail with 375 mD+, along the sea, with sublime landscapes? 😊 Honestly, it's hard to ask for more.
The start will be at the level of the Grande Grave, and you'll head towards the south of the Gaspé Peninsula, to reach its cape 📍. With an immersion in full nature, after a little more than 7 km, you'll arrive at the Cap de Gaspé lighthouse, for the "refreshment - End of the World" 🌎. But it's not the time to get lost in the beauty of the place, it's time to turn back and head towards the finish 🔄.
With a path that runs along the Atlantic Ocean, you'll head back towards the finish arch, which will be in the same place as your start! 🏁
Let's go for a trail of 11 km with 545 mD+, that makes for a good ratio 📈.
You will start at the Grande Grave, to take the Sentier de Mont Saint-Alban 🏃♀️. After reaching the Mont Saint-Alban, which will offer you a beautiful view at km 4.7, you will continue your journey to Cap Bon Ami 🤔. As the name suggests, it will most likely be your good friend, as it offers a snack break, with a beautiful view of the Cap Bon Ami 🏞️.
At km 6.7, the halfway point of the route is completed, you'll just need to find your way back to the finish line, which is at the same location as your start! 🏁
A trail of 11 km with 275 mD+ sound good to you? 😊 Plus, the plan is simple: connect the Small Valley and the Big Valley, from the Gaspé Peninsula. These two municipalities are separated by these ten kilometers we propose you to run 🏃♀️.
The route will be along the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, so you will have the maritime landscape to your left 🌊 and the forest to your right 🌳. Quite a pleasant setting 🖼️.
Let's go for an express trail of 6 km with 290 mD+ 📈.
You will start at Grande Grave, taking the Sentier de Mont Saint-Alban towards Cap Bon Ami 🤔. And as the name suggests, it will surely be your good friend, offering you a snack break with a beautiful view of Cap Bon Ami 🏞️.
At km 2.2, it's time to head back towards Anse Blanchette, for a second refreshment at km 5.3. More than 3/4 of the route is complete, you'll just need to find your way back to the finish line, which is at the same place as your start! 🏁
