At the heart of the Scandinavian forests 🌲 awaits the Ultra X Finland to challenge you with an exceptional adventure 🇫🇮. More precisely at Salpausselkä, in the Lahti region. If you're not local, it probably doesn't ring a bell 😝, so to help you locate it, we can tell you it's 1 hour away from Helsinki (Yes, Helsinki the city, not the character from Casa De Papel 🎭). Ultra X Finland is here to push your limits like never before! Well, yes, there are still 112 km at stake... 🗝️ Oops, a bit quick to mention.
Now that we're here, let's present the different events you can participate in. It's not 1, not 2, not 3, but a total of 4 distances planned! 🔥 You can choose a race by registering for the 59 km, the 51 km, or even the 25 km 🤯. But if you need more, we've got the solution: simply aim for the ultra trail of 112 km to be completed over 2 days and in 2 stages 🦸♀️. As you probably already guessed, you will start the 59 km on the first day and the 51 km the following day 📆. Regardless of your choice, the courses are meticulously marked and immerse you completely in the Finnish nature 🌲. The Lahti region is a destination that delights runners every year. Its endless trails, picturesque port, and unique glacial formations ❄️, are a real feast for the eyes (yes, a feast for the eyes 👀). Additionally, by running on the Ultra X Finland, you can earn UTMB index points 20K and 50K 🏆 for the next edition of the UTMB in Chamonix! Well yes, this race is part of the famous UTMB® World Series, showing that they are even present in Finland, by the sea, on the shores of the sparkling lakes, and in the woods! 🤟
And after the effort, the comfort…! Don't miss discovering the beautiful region of Päijät-Häme. You can also visit the city of Porvoo, famous for its colorful wooden houses 🏘️. Less than an hour's drive away, dive into the tranquility of Lake Päijänne, the second largest in Finland. Or why not experience a moment of relaxation in an authentic Finnish sauna? 🧖♀️ And for culture enthusiasts, the Sibelius Museum in Lahti is a must-see! 🎻
So, are you hopping on your reindeer 🦌 and flying to the land of Santa Claus? 🎅
The 112 km race will start from the Stadium of Lahti along with the 59 km runners 🏃♂️.
Initially, you will approach Lake Vesijärvi. It's not the only lake you'll see on your way 🤠. Dozens of kilometers later, you'll tread the shores of Lake Titlijarvi before reaching Työtjärvi 🏊♂️.
Of course, you'll also have the chance to venture a bit into the Scandinavian woods before arriving at the shores of Lake Lahdenpohja where the first stage's campsite will finally be ⛺.
The 59 km event is a standalone race but also the first stage of the Ultra X 112 km🤠.
The race will start from the Lahti Stadium 🏃♂️.
Initially, you will approach Lake Vesijärvi. It is not the only lake you will see on your way 🤠. Dozens of kilometers later, you will tread along the shores of Lake Titlijarvi before reaching Työtjärvi 🏊♂️.
Obviously, you will also have the chance to delve a bit into the Scandinavian woods before arriving at the shores of Lake Lahdenpohja where the campsite for the first stage of the 110 km will finally be located ⛺.
The 51 km event is a standalone race but it's also the second stage of the Ultra X 112 km 🤠.
So the start will be from the camp, near Lahdenpohja Lake 🏞️. Unlike the runners from the previous day (unless you're taking on the 112 km challenge), you'll need to head to the city of Lathi. Almost the entire course follows trails deep in the heart of the Scandinavian woods. But, lucky you, you'll also have the chance to tread the shores of Titlijarvi, then descend towards those of Keski-Tiilijärvi and Vähä Tiilijärvi. Go ahead, we dare you to pronounce their names! All jokes aside, you still have 25 km on Finnish paths before reaching Lahti! 🗾
