The event in a few words

Don’t hibernate—feel an incredible surge of sporting energy right in the heart of the Czech Republic! Winter Run Praha (part of an extremely popular nationwide winter running series) is the flagship edition that proves every year that Prague has an amazing charm not only in the glow of the summer sun, but also wrapped in winter weather and white powder.

In the Prague edition of this winter classic, runners can choose between two fast, dynamic distances: 4 km (Sprint) and the main 8 km race (Winter Run). The race village and course are most often located in Prague’s iconic  Ladronka Park (considered one of the best recreational spots in the capital) or on the picturesque  Letná plains. Wide, perfectly prepared paths, crisp winter air, and the hot cheer of the crowd guarantee a powerful endorphin rush. At the finish line, a unique trophy awaits you—an iconic, heavy medal with a fierce winter motif and a cup of lifesaving, steaming tea.

Running in the cold and tackling Prague’s hills is a major energy burn. As soon as you cool down after the start and collect your well-deserved medal, winter Prague invites you for a brilliant, wonderfully cozy weekend reset:

A winter fairy tale in Hradčany: Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) and Golden Lane covered with a layer of snow look absolutely magical, like something straight out of an Andersen fairy tale. A huge plus of a winter visit is the significantly smaller number of tourists than in summer—you can soak up this monumental atmosphere in peace 🏰.

Charles Bridge and the Old Town at an unhurried pace: A walk across the frosted Charles Bridge (Karlův most) in the morning or late evening has an incredible, mysterious charm. The fog hovering above the freezing Vltava and the view of the illuminated Old Town towers linger in your memory for a long time 🌉.

Warm up in Prague’s cafés: Prague hides hundreds of wonderfully cozy, atmospheric cafés—both the traditional ones (like Cafe Louvre or Cafe Slavia) and modern specialty roasteries (e.g., in the trendy Karlín district or in Letná). After braving the cold, a cup of hot chocolate or an excellent brew will get you back on your feet in minutes ☕.

A royal Czech feast for a mighty hunger: After a winter run, forget about your diet. Visit a traditional Prague pub and order a warming, spicy garlic soup (česnečka) with croutons and stretchy cheese. For the main course, the legendary roasted vepřové koleno (pork knuckle) is perfect, or a hearty goulash served in bread with fluffy dumplings. Top it all off perfectly with a mug of hot mulled wine (svařák), warming horká medovina (mead), or a classic Prague pilsner 🍲🍻.

Pack your winter thermal gear, gather your running crew, and earn your winter trophy in one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals at Winter Run Praha!
