Today, we’re crossing the Atlantic Ocean to head to Canada! 🇨🇦 Gaspésie, this wild and majestic peninsula located east of Québec, is not only a paradise for lovers of nature 🌳, but also for trail enthusiasts. What a playground! The Ultra Trail Gaspésia 100 is much more than a race: it’s a total immersion between sea and mountain. Lace up your trail shoes 🏔️, you’re about to have an unforgettable experience 🏃♂️ !
This extraordinary race takes place in the area of Percé in Canada 💪. A real adventure in an idyllic setting. The race offers a wide range of distances—enough to get lost even before signing up 😅! Ultra-trail distances, stage races over 3 days, more classic trail routes... 👌 There’s something for every taste! For the most seasoned runners, the ultimate challenge remains the 100 miles (165 km), a demanding course that tests both mental and physical resilience 🥵. But don’t worry—the organizers also offer more accessible distances, such as the 55 km, the 21 km, or the 10 km, open to all levels 🤠. Plenty of ways to enjoy the scenery without rushing. After all, you crossed the ocean to enjoy it, right? 🌊 It’s in this breathtaking setting, between the peaks of the Appalachians and the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, that the Ultra Trail Gaspésia 100 takes place. Beyond the jaw-dropping landscapes, the UTG100 is also a celebration 🎊. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, and festive, with a large community of runners and volunteers. An event celebrating its 11th anniversary this year! 🎁
For a decade, the UTG100 has become a must in the trail-running world 🏃♀️. The race is ranked among UTMB events, a global benchmark 🎽. This recognition places the UTG100 among the most respected and sought-after races by trail runners worldwide 🕺. Once you’ve crossed the finish line, we’re counting on you and your loved ones to enjoy everything Québec has to offer in this region 🤩. You can plan to enjoy Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé 🌿, which you’ll already have encountered during the race. This time, you’ll be able to observe the Northern gannets a little more calmly—those majestic birds 🐦 nesting on the cliffs. The Appalachian trails will give even more to hiking enthusiasts with superb panoramas (if you want even more) 😎. If you’d like to add a pinch of culture to your stay, head to Percé, a village where history and local traditions are very much alive 🤟. Foodies can book a table! Gaspésie is famous for its seafood and cheeses! 🤤
So don’t waste any time—join the starting line! 😉
This "UTG100 - 160" starts at the Port des Pêcheurs, a small cove located 6 kilometers north of Percé.
A start in a picturesque spot—you’ll be able to see for yourself. Enough to feel like Robinson Crusoe, but no time to fish 🎣. After several kilometers along the seaside on the shores of the Gulf, you and your companions head toward Cannes-de-Roche, before veering inland after the place known as Coin du Banc 🏞️. You’ll follow the course of the Rivière du Portage for 7 kilometers before looping back toward De Forceville and then descending to the small fishing port of Anse-à-Beaufils. Up to the 35th kilometer of the race, the gradients are relatively gentle, but things get tougher as you climb toward the heights surrounding Percé ⛰️, with a series of passes, climbs, and descents 😬. Those 5,000 mD+ had to be hiding somewhere. Mont Saint-Anne, overlooking Percé, offers a bit of respite with its magnificent scenery. Then it’s back the other way toward the Gaspésie base camp, located a little above Cannes-de-Roche. You set off again on this route you know so well, for a 55-kilometer "final." This time, it’s the real deal when you see the Gulf of Saint Lawrence again after the mountain section.
Congratulations to you! You’ve "conquered" the UTG100 💪.
This «UTG100 - 110» somewhat traces the route of the «UTG100 - 160», but plays with the directions, shall we say ☝️.
This time, the start is in Percé. You begin with the wonders of Mont Saint-Anne, which overlooks Percé and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Breathtaking scenery along this part of the course. In the distance, you can indeed enjoy views of Bonaventure Island and the Rocher Percé 🪨, two magnificent natural beauties of the region. The first 20 kilometers of the race are a succession of passes ⛰️. Then, a bit of rest on flatter sections awaits you. Enjoy the picturesque Anse-à-Beaufils fishing harbour. You then head back toward Val d'Espoir and De Forceville. Once you reach the Portage River valley, follow its course to the St. Lawrence and the Coin-du-Blanc beach. Once you arrive at the Auberge du Coin-du-Blanc, base camp, turn around! Repeat the outbound route.
3,500 mD+ await you on this race 😅.
This "UTG100 - 55" starts at Port des Pêcheurs, a small cove located 6 kilometers north of Percé 🧭.
After leaving this picturesque place, you enjoy several kilometers along the waterfront, on the shores of the Gulf 🌊. First head toward the community of Cannes-de-Roche, before heading inland after the area known as Coin du Banc. You will follow the course of the Portage River for 7 kilometers until you return to the road toward De Forceville 🛣️ before descending to the small fishing harbor of Anse-à-Beaufils 🎣. Half the route is behind you. Barely have you time to savor this magical place when you set off again toward the hills surrounding Percé ⛰️. The final 20 kilometers require energy, with a succession of several passes, climbs, and descents to expect 📈. A total of 1,700 m of elevation gain in this challenge.
Mont Saint-Anne, overlooking Percé, will offer you a beautiful finish 😍 facing the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.
This stage race "TP100" has a special feature ☝️.
The first day is the toughest; the next two days are for enjoying it more! 😁 Participants are asked to cover the same course three times, nearly 165 kilometers of racing on the first day, with more than 5,000 mD+. Phew 😰. The route follows that of the "TP25". You start at Fishermen's Harbour, a small cove located 6 kilometers north of Percé. After leaving this picturesque spot, you enjoy several kilometers along the sea, on the shores of the Gulf 🌊. Then head toward the community of Cannes-de-Roche, before turning inland after the place called Coin du Banc. You will follow the course of the Rivière du Portage for 7 kilometers before getting back on the road toward De Forceville, then descending to the small fishing port of Anse-à-Beaufils. Just enough time to catch your breath in this magical place before setting off again toward the scenery around Percé, with a series of sections, climbs and descents kept in reserve 🔑. Mont Saint-Anne, overlooking Percé, offers you a bit of respite with its magnificent landscapes 🤩. Then it's time to head back to the Gaspesie base camp, located a little above Cannes-de-Roche. You then set off again on this well-known course, for a 55-kilometer "final". This time it's for real when you see the Gulf of Saint Lawrence after the mountainous ⛰️ section again.
On the second and third days, you and your adventure companions set off again on the same route, between Fishermen's Harbour and Percé. But this time, you only run it once, for "only" 55 kilometers per day. 😅
What luck 😉. Your three-day race starts on Bonaventure Island 🏝️, a small wild paradise located two kilometers off the coast of Percé. Two loops and 13 kilometers are planned to let you enjoy the beauty of this natural setting. A colony of northern gannets 🐧 lives there. Enjoy!
The second day takes you on a longer route, over 45 kilometers. Start in Coin-du-Banc on the shores of La Malbaie. 7 kilometers along the Rivière du Portage until you join the road to De Forceville before descending to the small fishing port of Anse-à-Beaufils. After revisiting the seaside 🌊, you head back inland, toward the ridges surrounding Percé. The last 10 kilometers therefore require extra energy ⚡, with a series of several passes, climbs and descents, all the way to Percé ➡️.
The third day of this stage race begins on the piers of the town of Percé 📍. The view of Percé Rock 🪨, located 30 meters from shore, will give you extra strength 💪. You have enough energy to tackle a few ridges. 700 mD+ await you on the heights surrounding Percé. First, those of Mont Sainte-Anne. Its trails overlook the Gulf, a marvel 😍. You then descend via the Sentier des Sources to reach the slopes of Mont Blanc. The Canadian summit, rising to 350 meters 📈. After skirting the mountain via the Sentier Pieds Croches, still on gentle trails, you will take on the descent to Percé via the Sentier Grande Coupe, which will lead you to the Rivière La Coulée. It will show you the way to the Gulf and the finish line 🏁, which takes place on the piers just like the start 😌.
For this "TP50" as for the "TP25", the first day of this stage race takes place on Bonaventure Island, a small natural and wild paradise located two kilometers off the coast of Percé 🏝️. 13 kilometers and 450 meters of elevation gain are planned on the trails of this part of the world usually inhabited by northern gannets... 🐧
The second day is more land-based, even though it starts in a fishing port 🎣. Indeed, it is in the charming setting of Anse-à-Beaufils, located 10 km along the coast south of Percé, that the start of this race takes place 📍. The first 8 kilometers, heading inland toward the town of Petit-Québec, present no difficulty. Then it's time to tackle the terrain surrounding Percé. By climbing and descending the trails of this natural area, you can savor the view over the Gulf. On the trails of Mont Saint-Anne, magnificent views 😍 await you of Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island. Watch where you step! 😅 The finish is planned on the docks of the town of Percé.
On the 3rd day, repeat with the 13 km loop on Bonaventure Island. Just to enjoy again the chance to be here! In the middle of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, one of the largest in the world 🌎, we'll let you imagine the journey.
This three-stage race takes place on land and sea! Here’s the plan: the first day of "TP25" takes you to Bonaventure Island for a 7-kilometre loop facing the waters of the Gulf. 225 metres of elevation gain await you... along with the gannets 🐧, residents of the island.
The second day is the biggest day of this stage race 💪. This time, 12 kilometres are on the schedule, with a start planned right in the heart of nature, a few kilometres as the crow flies from Percé 🪽. You’ll climb slowly toward Mont Blanc, looping around it, then enjoy all the viewpoints along the route. It has to be said: the view is breathtaking 🤩. Then head down to the La Coulée River before tackling the trails of Mont Saint-Anne. Watch out for falls if you spend too much time looking at the magnificent scenery around you 🤣. The last kilometres bring you back to Percé, for a finish on the town’s wharf. Day 2 completed! ✅
The third day offers a return to Mont Saint-Anne, but in the opposite direction of the trails covered on day 2 of the race. A 5 km discovery trail to wrap up these 3 days in style and once again enjoy the region’s beauty. After crossing the Surveyors’ Trail, you’ll continue gently along the Belvédère Trail, which truly lives up to its name. A breathtaking panorama over the Gulf and Bonaventure Island. After the Nid du Corbeau lookout, head back down toward the town of Percé via the Sources Trail 💦.
This time, the race starts in Barachois 📍, a locality in the town of Percé located on La Malbaie, a bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The race promises to be exciting. After the first 3 kilometers, the first reward is the crossing of La Malbaie via rue de la Plage. A narrow strip of sand stretching over 4 kilometers gives you a great start to the race in a marine atmosphere. Upon reaching Cannes-de-Roches, you have 2 flat kilometers left before turning toward the hills and rolling trails surrounding Percé, for a more mountain vibe. This is followed by alternating climbs and descents with small passes offering between 150 and 350 meters of elevation gain. Taking the Sentier des Sources, the route ends between Mont Blanc and Mont Saint-Anne, just before reaching the docks of Percé 🏁.
It is in the rather magical setting of Anse-à-Beaufils, a small fishing port located 10 km along the coast south of Percé, that the start of this race takes place 🎣. What a picturesque spot! Soak up the atmosphere. The first six kilometers, heading toward the municipality of Petit-Québec, are fairly gentle and lead you gradually toward the hills surrounding Percé, which you will reach after 9 kilometers of plains 🌿. You will then climb for 5 kilometers along the long trail of Coin-du-Banc-à-Percé, which will bring you to the foot of Mont Blanc, which you will go around ⛰️. You then head back toward the gulf and its majestic shoreline 🌊. Then descend toward the La Coulée River, before tackling the trails of Mont Saint-Anne. The last kilometers offer you a return to Percé, for a finish on the piers of the town 🏙️.
This route of 15 km starts on the waterfront of the town of Percé 📍. You’ll be immediately rewarded with a breathtaking view of Percé Rock 🪨, a natural monument of the Gulf, located 30 metres from shore. Once that thrill has passed, you’ll have enough energy to tackle a few climbs ⛰️. A 700-metre elevation gain awaits you on the heights surrounding Percé ⬆️. First, those of Mont Saint-Anne. Its trails overlook the Gulf, a true marvel 😍. You then descend via the Sentier des Sources to reach the slopes of Mont Blanc. After looping around the mountain via the Sentier des Pieds Croches, still on gentle trails, you’ll take on the descent back to Percé via the Sentier de la Grande Coupe 📉, which will lead you to the La Coulée River. In turn, it will show you the way to the Gulf and the finish 🏁, which takes place on the docks just like the start 😉.
It is in Percé, near the campground, that this discovery trail of 5 km begins. Head toward Mont Saint-Anne, rising to 330 meters high opposite the town 🏙️. Competitors 🏃♂️➡️ follow the Arpenteurs Trail to tackle the mountain slopes. The gentle climb continues on the Belvédères Trail, offering a breathtaking view of the Gulf and Île-Bonaventure 🤯. After the Belvédère du Nid de Corbeau, descend back toward the town of Percé via the Sources Trail. The race finishes in town, along the waterfront of the gigantic Gulf of St. Lawrence 🌊. The finish is all the more beautiful 😍.
Participants in this trail on the island will also be amazed by the wonders of Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock National Park... 🤩 Although the race start is the same as the 7 km, on the shore facing Percé, participants in this race will get a double portion of the main loop, thus running 13 km! 👏 An excellent way to enjoy even more of the area's natural beauty... 450 meters of elevation gain await runners on this discovery trail.
With this island trail, participants can enjoy all the wonders of Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock National Park! 🤩 Behind that long name lies a little natural gem located on an island two kilometers off the coast of Percé. The place offers a gentle elevation gain (225 meters), perfectly suited to beginners. 7 kilometers of trail facing the waters of the Gulf to enjoy! 🌊 All of it under the amused gaze of the Northern Gannets 🐧, residents of the island.
