All roads lead to Rome! ⬇️

« La città eterna » (the Eternal City)! ✨ Rome, capital of Italy and one of the richest in culture, history, and panoramas 👀. Timeless beauty and unique architecture—this one-of-a-kind destination is waiting for your next running date 🗓.

Running in the capital of Italy 🇮🇹 is like taking a tour through an open-air museum. For lovers of nature 🌻, the city is built on seven hills, so there’s no shortage of greenery! 🍃 People often say the future belongs to those who wake up early ⏰—especially in Rome. So set your alarm and lace up your sneakers early if you don’t want to be bothered by visitors 🫣.

A regular jog? Not interesting. But a jog in the city center of the capital, with its must-see monuments? Now that’s OK, we’re in 🙃.

Head to the historic center, with the Colosseum, the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant’Angelo… 🏰 With a route from 5 km to 10 km, you can easily loop around the center and discover these monuments while running! 🏛 You can run along the Tiber and enjoy the many parks. One park in particular is loved by all Romans: Villa Borghese, with its 80 hectares styled in the French manner 🥖. A little tip: go up to the Pincio Terrace and you’ll have a breathtaking view over Rome! 🏙️

For runners with grand ambitions, the park of Villa Doria Pamphilj and its 180 hectares 🪷 will win hearts… A 17th-century setting, filled with gardens and ponds, with an impressive villa at its center. For the sporty at heart, the Circus Maximus is a must. It’s the largest hippodrome 🐎 of Ancient Rome that has become a favorite spot for joggers 🏃.

In Rome, plenty of races are waiting for you! 🤗 Of course, the Rome Marathon—we didn’t lie about the museum story with this course that takes you past exceptional monuments from start to finish 🫨. Half marathons are in on it too with the Rome Half Marathon and the Rome Half Marathon (Roma-Ostia). Don’t panic—shorter distances are on the program too! The Rome 15K and We Run Rome, with a 5 km or 10 km race. With all that, you’ve got plenty to Roman-ticize your next races 💗.

I hope your schedule isn’t packed, because you’ve got plenty to enjoy in the city 🌆. Don’t forget to visit the inside of the Colosseum, one of the seven wonders of the world! Remember to toss your coin 🪙 into the Trevi Fountain, making your best wish (being first in your next race, for example 😉).

Italy also rhymes with gastronomy, so forget the stomach growls and come fill your belly. Fresh pasta 🍝 is so much better than what you can make at home! Roman pizza—we’re sure you’ve probably never tried it: a thin, crispy crust! 🍕 A meal without dessert is boring, so finish with a tiramisu which, as its translation says, lifts you up ⬆️.

Come on—grab your ticket and your bib; dolce vita is just waiting for you, for your next feat 😎.
