We have a new challenge for you that is likely to really please you 😎. In the month of January, a unique cycling concept 🚴, belonging to the very famous "GravelMan" series, takes off once again in the Île-de-France region. Paris East, the birthplace of the event, holds a variety of wonders in store for you and we assure you will not be disappointed with your visit! ✨
At the beginning of winter, head towards the city of light to tackle a new challenge ⚔️. If you are tired of classic races and standard competitions, GravelMan Paris East will surely capture your heart 💓. Between forest paths, rocky trails and small paved roads, you’ll experience the full spectrum 🌳. The concept is simple: once you choose your distance and pay for your bib, you will receive the route details, including the start and finish locations, as well as the mandatory and necessary equipment for your journey 📋. And there is no going in circles in the Parisian capital: the routes will lead you through the entire region, offering you a scenic view 👀. On average, it’s 60-70% gravel parts, with 30 to 40% paved parts. Green and gravel paths and natural trails will be your daily scenery throughout the weekend 📅. And if you don't want to part with your beloved asphalt: that’s also possible. Each distance of 60, 120, 200, 350, and 500 km is also available in road version, with similar elevation 📈. So there's no valid excuse not to start ❌.
In more detail, you can choose between 5 distances, depending on your profile or your ambitions 👑. The first route covers 60 km and is the most accessible of all the options. If it’s your first cycling race, whether in gravel or asphalt mode, it's a very good first challenge 🏆: not too short or too long, plus you’ll be home in time for dinner 🤤. For the rest, starting at 120 km, it's no longer a walk in the park 👕. Limited to 18 hours maximum effort, you’ll have to push hard to finish before nightfall 🌙. To be safe, we advise you to bring a headlamp and lights so you don't end up navigating by the stars ⭐️. For athletes seeking a challenging yet manageable course, the 200 km challenge is ideal: with its 1,800 mD+ and 200 km, we can assure your legs will feel the burn🦵. The final routes of 350 km and 500 km are for truly experienced athletes 🎽. Don't take on such distances without training. We’re talking about 2 to 3 days of non-stop efforts on average 🤯. You’ll be relieved to finally sit on a comfy couch once you reach the finish line and end the discomfort of bike saddles 🛋️. But hey, that's part of the charm of the activity, isn't it? 😬
After a good night's sleep (or two if needed ✅), you can put away your bike and start exploring on foot 👣. The area is brimming with urban and natural wonders. As for the Parisian capital 🏙️, we won't list all the monuments to see: that would take too long and several weeks to discover everything 😮💨. However, we can recommend some nice spots in the surroundings. If you like History with a capital H 📚, the splendid Palace of Versailles will plunge you into the decor of the 17th and 18th centuries, when The Sun King ruled France with an iron fist. For nature and environment, the Fontainebleau Forest is perfect for picnicking with family or friends 🧺. Just over an hour by car from Paris, the green and calming setting of the park will make you forget the Parisian stress and daily problems 💭. You will also find plenty of hiking trails if you have more energy to spare ⚡️.
Ready to engrave your name in the history of the discipline? Then let's meet after the holiday season to see how far you're capable of cycling 🚵.
