Marathon de Naples
Here's a race that's likely to be a hit! 😎 Starting from the Piazza del Plebiscito 📍, the Naples Marathon promises only good surprises! After all, in the beautiful city Italian of Naples 🤌, in Campania, it's hard to say no to putting on your next race bib under the warm sun of October 🌞. Seaside, historic district, must-see monuments... The Maratona di Napoli has nothing to envy of a Rome Marathon or a Venice Marathon! 👀 Only difference: the number of participants 🏃♀️➡️. More recent and therefore less known, this marathon didn't have more than 3,000 runners at the start line during its last edition! ☝️ That's good news, it gives you more chances to grab first place or set a new PR ⏱️. But wait to see what kind of Neapolitan weekend you'll have during this sporting event in Neapolis! 🤔
Marathon, Half Marathon, 12.4 km non-timed or even festive and gastronomic 4 or 7 km walks: you're about to experience a true running festival! 🥳 Although Italian conviviality is at the forefront 🤗, don't forget the medal at the end of those few kilometers! 🥇 And the course is sure to please many in search of the golden ticket golden chrono: straight paths and almost no elevation 🤯. A rain of records is expected that day! 🌈 The scenery can only make you run faster (or make you want to stop and take photos 📸): Palazzo Reale, Castel dell'Ovo 🏰, Fountain of the Sebeto ⛲ or even the Castel Nuovo against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea 🤩. Don't worry, if you're hesitant to tackle the main distance, the Half Marathon route is the same: the 42.195 km is twice the 21.097 km loop 🤓.
And after crossing the finish line on the Piazza del Plebiscito, why not celebrate your run with a pizza? 🍕 Yes, the Neapolitan pizza is a staple since the 18th century and believe it or not, it has even been listed as UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage! 😍 The city of Naples, the third largest city in Italy, has existed for about 3,000 years and therefore boasts one of Europe's richest cultural heritages. You can visit numerous monuments (if your legs are still functioning 😅): the Duomo di Napoli, the Sansevero Chapel, the Bourbon Tunnel, or even the Catacombs of San Gennaro! 🏛️ In the vicinity, you'll find the mythical Mount Vesuvius (which will have watched over you during your entire run 🌋) with the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum, take the opportunity to admire the excavations and the remains of year 79 🦴.
In addition to being the city of pizza and culture, it's also the city of espresso and football legend Diego Maradona. So come and make your mark in the history of the Neapolis Marathon! 😜
For this Marathon, you will have the chance to see the monuments twice because you will make 2 laps of the Half-Marathon! 🏃➡️
For this legendary Half-Marathon, you will take your place on the starting line of the Piazza del Plebiscito! 📍 On the program: straight lines, no elevation, monuments, and the seaside! 🌊 You will pass by the Castel dell'Ovo, the Fontana della Sirena 🧜♀️, the Fontana del Sebeto and then turn back. It will be time to follow the sea, pass by the port 🚤, and there you will start to hear the crowd cheering for you 🎉. You will see the Piazza Bovio, the Maschio Angioino, and once again tread on the Piazza del Plebiscito, the finish line! 😎
For this walk of 7 km, the start and finish will be at Piazza del Plebiscito. You will go along the seaside 🌊 and pass by must-see monuments 🏛️ such as the Fontana del Gigante ⛲, the Castel dell'Ovo, the Mappatella Beach 🏖️ and then you will turn back at Piazza Sannazaro 📍.
