Oh how cramped we are, at the back of this box, sing the sardines, sing the sardines… Patrick Sébastien has everything planned to motivate you 🎶
With this music, you’ll be right in theme to participate in your next trail 😉. In Duino, in Italy, one thing is sure, the sardine is symbolic 🎣. And over there, they don't do things halfway, so every year, ASD SentieroUno organizes an event to celebrate it 🥳, the Sardon Run. A trail, yes, but above all a historic race that lets you: cross the most beautiful war relics 🪖, discover a unique landscape and taste some good gastronomy 🤌. In the middle of the Karst Duinese region, 4 distances are organized, ranging from 5 km to 43 km 😳, the goal is to please everyone! 🤪 Taking place in August, the weather will satisfy you ☀️ and to not suffer too much from it, they have thought of everything! At the finish, take a dive directly into the sea 🌊, but also enjoy a good tasting of fresh sardines. All of that, Sardon (it's a gift), to motivate us 😆.
With starts planned in the late afternoon, no matter your course, you’ll enjoy your run at sunset 🌅, which already makes you dream! 🤩 There are 4 tracks, giving you a good choice. We start slowly, “The Sardonzin Sunset” 5 km, quite flat ✅, which you can do running or walking, it's up to you! Warning, the elevation is added for the next courses 📈, otherwise it's not very fun… “The Sardon Trail” a 15 km track, an accessible distance, with a course that will impress you with its beauty 😍. We start to hit hard, with “The Sardon Half Marathon” of 21 km, in other words a half-marathon 😊, but with ups and downs. And finally, “The Sardon Ultra”, the largest course, 43 km and lots of elevation 🫠! But that's not all, because they thought of the walkers 🚶 and what better than a discovery walk? Given the surroundings, it's not to be missed 😄! “The Sardon Discovery”, a 6 km walk to pass through beautiful caves and even visit the museum “History and prehistory around Timavo” 🏛️. A quite historical walk that will make you visit and enjoy the landscape.
Even just in the courses, the visits are planned but there are never enough isn’t it? 🙂↔️ Come on, extend your weekend and come discover the region 📍. Start in the city, with the Duino Castle, dating from the 14th century 🏰, it is on the cliffs of the Adriatic Sea, so the panorama is guaranteed 😻. Otherwise, even if you pass by during your tour, the “Villagio Del Pescatore” is a must-stop. With its restaurants, alleys, and beautiful port 🚤, a good time is planned. Belonging to the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, there are getaways. To the south ⬇️, Val Rosandra, it is a breathtaking nature reserve. Otherwise, with a more urban setting, Trieste, the capital of the region 🏙️, is on the edge with the Slovenia and is full of visits. On the other side, less than 2 hours by car, heading north ⬆️, you can find lakes. The Barcis Lake, Ravedis, or Sauris are perfect for practicing water sports 🏄♀️ or simply having a nice walk 💐. We end on a high note, even if it's a bit further, the Dolomites ⛰️, this natural site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. Sure, it's a rest that will be a bit physical in these mountains, but given its beauty, you'll remember it all your life, without regret 😌.
An event as complete as this doesn't happen every weekend! Come finish your summer with a superb event 🎊.

A 5 km walk to discover, accessible to everyone, and even for your pet!
You will start in the legendary Fishermen's Village 🎣, as its name suggests, by the seaside. We cross through history and walk among the remains of the First World War 🫡. Following the trenches used over 100 years ago, the journey continues in the Cernizza Forest 🌲, a former hunting ground for Italian princes. Its significance speaks volumes; "Cernizza" means "black" in Slovenian, referring to the abundance of oaks 🌳 that cast a dense shade throughout the area.
Through the maze that this space forms, you will walk on narrow and winding paths ⚠️. Before returning to the starting point, a short detour to the Deer Park of Prince Torre Tasso 💐.
All in all, a beautiful, calm, and pleasant route to enjoy the surroundings 🔥.
