Trail and Île-de-France. On paper, not the most obvious pairing. But think again 😉, the region has more than one trick up its sleeve, with over 124 courses per year, you have plenty of options… Plenty to get lost in well-managed routes. We don't think of it at first, but Île-de-France is a well-established land for races with elevation ⛰️. Come discover them with us, it's worth it ✨.
The city of light Paris and its countless monuments, museums, restaurants 🍽, cafes ☕️ make the pride of the Parisians... However, it's important to know that the French capital is surrounded by many natural havens of peace where you can go breathe fresh air 🌲! Where shall we start? What if the adventure was hidden at the end of the metro line 9? The Domaine de Saint-Cloud is a perfect passage between the city and nature! Once you're ready, head to the southwest of Paris, towards one of the most beautiful parks 🌲🌳 in France 🇫🇷: the Parc Naturel de la Chevreuse! Located just below Versailles and Guyancourt, in the Yvelines, this vast area will allow you to explore the Forest of Rambouillet with its kilometers of trails. Where castles 🏰 and monuments abound 😍! A little run 🏃🏼♀️ near the Château de la Madeleine for gentleman or lady? In Chevreuse, a municipality 30 kilometers from Paris, you feel far away from Parisian life... We mentioned above Versailles, the castle park is a real treasure. Doing a few loops running around its ponds will make you feel like the king 👑 of France.
The region Île-de-France, the smallest French region, can boast of having within it four natural parks: the Parc Naturel Régional du Vexin français, the Vallée de la Chevreuse thus, Oise-Pays de France, and the Gâtinais. It is in this last one that is located the most famous forest 🌳 of France, which we named the Forest of Fontainebleau, so cherished by climbing enthusiasts 🧗🏼♀️ for its thousands of rocky boulders 🪨 scattered amongst the trees… Do you desire another destination adored by painters 👨🏻🎨? Go discover the village of Provins in the department of Seine-et-Marne. The painters loved Montmartre, they also fell in love 😍 with this little corner of paradise and its medieval charms. The village has been on the World Heritage List of Unesco since 2001. Have we piqued your interest in rediscovering Île-de-France and its natural treasures?! 🤩
So, what about trail races in Île-de-France ? Well, believe it or not, there are plenty of choices, including the style of trail. How about starting with a point-to-point race, from the city of light 🗼(what, it doesn't look like the Eiffel Tower?) to the city of kings 👑? Then head to the Paris-Versailles! 16 km of route starting in the city, a crossing of the forest of Meudon and a grand arrival in the gardens of Château de Versailles ! OOOKKKKAAAY, down on our knees! 🧎 The race EcoTrail Paris is an eco-friendly race 🌎. It will feature the Champ de Mars, the Eiffel Tower, the Île Saint-Germain... Exceptional monuments 🏛️ for a very natural race. The Domaine de Saint-Cloud (again!), on the agenda, will let you take a deep breath of fresh air 💨. In the department of Yvelines, the Ramboli'Trail takes you to the gardens of the Château de Rambouillet, for two exceptional routes ⭐️. Still in this department, another chance to enjoy yourself with the CrossRoad trail. You can discover the nature around the city of Coignières, located midway between Versailles and Rambouillet. Let's change a bit with a move to Seine-et-Marne. It's in Noisiel that your 🥾 adventure with the Oxy'trail begins. Stroll through the woods 🌳 of this Île-de-France commune. Two short trails are scheduled for the event.
