One mountain can hide another... 👀 And behind this one lies Bursa! The Eker I Run event awaits you in this magical city of Turkey 🇹🇷, for an unforgettable experience! Engage in this charitable race: in 2021, the Eker I Run donated 250,000 Turkish liras 💷 to 18 local NGOs involved in social projects... Take part in this heartwarming adventure 🫶. And for that, we even let you choose the effort 💪. On the menu: 5 km, 15 km, a marathon and a marathon relay, and even a skating race 🛼 for the most whimsical among you! 🤪
Here, we combine running and good cause, and it's a great opportunity to discover stunning landscapes, between lush forests and mighty mountains ⛰️. Did you know? Uludaǧ also means "great mountain" in Turkish, and what a happy coincidence because it's this mountain range you will run alongside to the south ⬇️, after crossing the wooded areas 🌲. Run in the footsteps of sultans (or lynxes), lost among the black pines of Anatolia in a full wild natural setting 😍. The Eker I Run is also a celebration of a healthy lifestyle, an ode to good health! 😁 But don't worry, the atmosphere is warm and friendly 🥰. It is in an amateur spirit that everyone gathers at the finish line to share a sporty and supportive moment 🏃♀️. Known for its spectacular setting, this race also has a significant distinguishing feature: its descending gradient 📉. With its 2,230 mD- and only 550 m of ascent, the course of the Eker I Run is conducive to performances for some, and a fully relaxing race for others! 🧘 Perfect for enjoying the landscape without being too out of breath... 💨 And the organizers have thought about this parameter! Whether it's the 5 or 15 km, or even the marathon, a playlist 🎧 is associated with each race! You can find them directly on the race's website 🎶.
Before Istanbul, it was Bursa that was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. It was then called Hüdavendigâr, which means "the city of the sovereign" 👑. Indeed, it's there that the first Ottoman sultans are buried... 🤫 The region is rich in cultural and historical anecdotes! So after your race, don't miss the chance to discover Bursa and its surroundings 🤠. Stroll in Gölyazı, a picturesque village on a small peninsula of Lake Uluabat. Ideal for a leisurely walk by the water 💧. Okay, okay, you will have descended the mountain on horseback 🐴 Uludağ... But nothing prevents you from going back to discover a bit more of this majestic mountain known for its fabulous hiking trails! 🥾 For even more pleasure for the eyes 👀, the Green Mosque of Bursa 🕌 - a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture not to be missed - opens its doors for visits 🎟️. But we know, all this adventure will make you hungry... Don't worry, you are in the right place. In terms of food, you will be well served 🤤. Already you can't go to Turkey without eating a kebab 🥙, that's a no-no ❌. Try the İskender Kebab, originating from the very town, this legendary dish consists of thin slices of grilled lamb, served on pita bread soaked in melted butter, topped with tomato sauce 🥫, all accompanied by fresh yogurt. Treat yourself with Kemalpaşa Tatlısı, the syrupy dessert 100% Bursa: these are small balls made from cheese 🧀, flour, and semolina, baked then soaked in a sugary syrup, ultra soft, very popular in the city's sweet shops 🏙️. Finish your culinary marathon with Cantık, the Turkish pizza made in Bursa! 🍕
So, did we make your mouth water? Eker, I run love! 💙
The marathon course will start in front of the Kurbağa Kaya station which is at an altitude of 1870 m. You will mainly descend through the forests of Uludağ with a negative elevation of 2,230 m. The first 30 kilometers of the trail will offer you an almost continuous descent punctuated by some beautiful climbs (550 mD+ though 🥵). You will notably pass through the village of Kirazlé at km 19, which is the main refreshment point 💧. Afterwards, you will run alongside the Doğancı dam and its body of water 🛶 from km 27 to km 31.
The last 10 kilometers will challenge your muscles differently after 32 km of descent. That's when you'll have to give it your all 🚀. You will encounter a few small climbs, particularly at km 37, but you will see the finish city ahead of you 👀. This entire technical section will pass through Doğancılar before reaching Nilüfer, leading to the finish line. The finish will take place at the Eker Meydan shopping center after a final descent at km 40. You'll have a few meters left before crossing the final arch 🏁.
The marathon can also be completed in relay! 👯

The route will head due north towards Orhaneli, gradually climbing for 7.5 km through the forest before making a turnaround at the highest point. The return to Eker Meydan will offer a technical descent allowing you to recover while maintaining a steady pace in the final kilometers to the finish line 🏁.
The 5K Eker I Run will offer you a round trip of 5 km from the Eker Meydan Shopping Mall 🛍️.
