This year, an XXS Aquathlon in mixed relay is offered to clubs! 🤝
Nestled in the heart of Occitanie, Revel is a small town with authentic charm 🤌, surrounded by the Montagne Noire and neighboring Lake Saint-Ferréol. This lake, listed as a historic site and created in the 17th century to supply the Canal du Midi, provides the backdrop for the swim 🏊♀️ and run segments. The organizers have thought of as many people as possible, with many distances available, for experienced triathletes or beginners 🏅. The bike routes take you through the Montagne Noire ⛰️, with winding roads and climbs that will put your legs to the test, but also fast descents and breathtaking landscapes 😮💨. You’ll have to give it your all on the climb to the Croix de Montalric 📈 between Sorèze and Arfons, used by the Tour de France during the Muret–Carcassonne stage in 2025 🤯. You’ll be timed on this section ⏱️, so we hope the wind is at your back! 💨 The run takes place on forest trails 🌲 and tree-lined paths. The mild, sunny climate of June 🌞 will be with you even after the race, so you can enjoy the pasta party and the festive, musical atmosphere of BreathMan! 🎺
Once you’ve crossed the finish line—or before the race—you’ll obviously want to enjoy Revel and its surroundings. Occitanie and Haute-Garrone are full of natural and cultural treasures worth the detour 😍. Of course, you can experience the Lake of Saint-Ferréol again, which was for more than 200 years the largest dam in Europe 🌏. History lovers will enjoy discovering the Canal du Midi, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site 😉. Got heavy legs or feel like resting? Stay in Revel and soak up all the culture. Its 17th-century covered market, its picturesque lanes and its warm atmosphere will delight you 😎.
So, are you joining the adventure? 😁
A word from the organizer:
"The events take place in a location steeped in history, in and around a magnificent body of water, on rolling forest routes."
The race starts on the shores of Lac de Saint-Ferréol. All Triathlon L participants set off from the water sports base beach for a 🏊♂️ 1.9 km swim with a Australian exit.
Once this first stage is done, it’s time for the bike 🚲 over a distance of 90 km. The course loops around the Montagne Noire, passing through Les Cammazes, Sorèze, Dourgne and Vaudreuille—towns located around Revel. The route is fairly rolling, with technical climbs like the La Galaube hill.
For the 21.1 km run that wraps up this tough-guy triathlon, you’ll get 4 laps around Lac de Saint-Ferréol 🤩.
As with the Triathlon L, the M race starts on the shores of Lake Saint-Ferréol. All participants set off from the watersports base beach for a 🏊♀️ swim of 1.5 km with an Australian exit.
Next up is the bike 🚲 for a distance of 40 km. The route planned by the organizers of this race takes you toward the towns of Sorèze, Dourgne and Vaudreuille. Along the way, expect a few climbs, and you might not be laughing on the Rigole hill 🙂.
For the 10 km run that follows the swim 🏊♂️ and the bike 🚲, two loops are planned around the lake.
This S race still starts at the watersports center, but the loop is tighter (750 meters), making for a more accessible event.
Participants hop on their bikes 🚲 for a 20 km sprint, which includes the Vol à Voile pass. It’s going to fly by fast 💨 on the D85 and D1 roads between Revel, Vaudreuille and Les Cammazes.
For the 5 km run, participants in this Triathlon get to enjoy the soft, wooded 🌳 trails of Lake Saint-Ferréol. One lap around the lake, then it’s time for some post-race comfort.
This S Discovery race follows the entire Competition course, but with wave starts on Lake Saint-Ferréol. A format suited to beginners in triathlon, to avoid the chaos of the swim start 🏊♂️ with the whole "pack" of runners.
Open from the Benjamins category, this race is perfect for discovering Triathlon. A 400-meter swim loop kicks off this introductory event. The organizers have designed a short loop that stays close to the shores of Lake Saint-Ferréol.
Next comes 10 km by bike 🚲, for a lovely getaway toward the towns of La Galaube and Vaudreuille, via the Vol à Voile pass. 150 meters of elevation gain on this course.
Finally, it’s on the trails around the leisure center that swimmers and then cyclists will turn into runners, for 2.5 km!
The SwinRun is contested individually or as a duo at the Lac de Saint-Ferréol site, a true base camp. Participants are entitled to an alternating crossing of swimming (900 meters) and running 🏃♀️ (2 km) before heading back in the opposite direction with a new crossing of the lake, again alternating between swimming (900 meters) and running (2 km).
1,800 meters of swimming and 4 km of running—the numbers add up for this SwimRun! 👌
