Samantha Loops ! 🤭
Get your calves ready and your best smile, because in addition to Courchevel or Courmayeur, the crazy MDS Crazy Loops concept is landing in La Rosière in July for an edition that’s already shaping up to be legendary in the heart of Savoie 🤩. The goal is as simple as it is addictive: you have 3, 6, 9, 12 or 24 hours to rack up as many loops as possible on a 3 to 5 km📍 course. If you’ve got good powers of deduction, you’ll recognize the backyard concept 🔄, except you’re not forced to head back out every hour 🕘. Basically, it’s the pure DNA of the Marathon des Sables popping up at 1,850 m altitude for a challenge where you run, you walk, you stop to wolf down a slice of Beaufort, and then you set off again under a breathtaking starry sky 🌌.
If you like skiing and the mountains, you probably know the resort of La Rosière, which offers a huge playground 😍. Running facing Mont Pourri (promise, it’s beautiful 😌) with Italy as your next-door neighbor means treating yourself to a timeless break between vertiginous ridgelines and sunlit alpine pastures 🐑, where the effort almost becomes secondary to the beauty of the show 🤩. But the real magic of the Crazy Loops is its supportive and inclusive 🫂 spirit. You share the trail with Para sport teams, which means you’ll be able to help them, accompany them, and even help them get up a climb 🥵. On a steeper section, in a technical descent, or just for the joy of sharing, you can, at any time, join a Para team and help them 💪. That’s the beauty of sport 😍. Between loops, the race village becomes the beating heart of the party, and you’ll create unique bonds to make it to the end of the adventure 👯♀️. To live the experience to the fullest, you’ve got two options: the bivouac offer with two nights under an MDS tent, or the self-sufficient option if you’d rather bring your own tent or book accommodation 🏠. Whether you choose to sleep under the stars or to get cozy after your feats, the vibe will stay festive, alpine, and resolutely laid-back 🧘. You run, you walk, you push yourself to the limit, you pull others upward, you stop… and you set off again until exhaustion 🥱.
Once you’ve completed your 42nd loop (or your 2nd—it’s up to you 😌) and your calves are begging for a break, the adventure continues 💥. Since you’re already perched up in La Rosière, take advantage of the fact your legs still work (a little) to go say hello to our transalpine neighbors ↔️. The resort is connected to the Petit Saint-Bernard pass: it’s the perfect chance to cross the border and devour a real Italian pizza or a bombardino 🍹. If your joints are crying for mercy, you can also try natural cryo 🥶 by dipping your feet in an icy alpine stream. It’s local, it’s free, and it’s brutally effective at putting out the fire smoldering in your shoes 🔥. And between two slices of Savoie ham and a diot sausage in white wine, don’t forget to dunk your bread in a generous fondue—even in the middle of summer, it goes down just fine! 🫕
Ready to run yourself ragged? 😵💫 Don’t loop this event!
You have 24 hours to complete as many loops as possible, at your own pace! 🤗 One loop is between 3 and 5 km 🔄.
