Samantha Loops ! 🤭
Get your calves and your best smile ready, because in addition to Courchevel or La Rosière, the crazy concept of MDS Crazy Loops is coming to Courmayeur in June for an edition that already promises to be legendary in the heart of the Aosta Valley in Italy 🤩. The goal is as simple as it is addictive: you have 3, 6, 9, 12 or 24 hours to rack up as many loops as possible on a 3 to 5 km📍 course. If you’re good at deduction, you’ll recognize the backyard 🔄 concept—except you’re not required to start again every hour 🕘. Basically, it’s the pure DNA of the Marathon des Sables showing up at altitude for a challenge where you run, you walk, you stop to admire Mont Blanc, and then you set off again under a breathtaking starry sky 🌌.
If you love trail running and the mountains, you probably know Courmayeur, a key checkpoint of the UTMB 😍. Running facing Mont Blanc with Italy as your playground means treating yourself to a timeless break between dizzying ridgelines and sunlit alpine pastures 🐑, where the effort almost becomes secondary to the beauty of the show 🤩. But the real magic of Crazy Loops is its supportive and inclusive 🫂 soul. You share the trail with para-sport teams, which means you can help them, accompany them, and even help them get up a climb 🥵. On a steeper section, a technical descent, or just for the joy of sharing, you can at any time join a Handi team and help them 💪. That’s the beauty of sport 😍. Between loops, the race village becomes the beating heart of the party, and you’ll build unique bonds to make it to the end of the adventure 👯♀️. Another piece of good news: our four-legged friends are welcome in the race 🐕. To live the full experience, you have two options: the bivouac package with two nights under an MDS tent, or the self-sufficient option if you prefer to bring your own tent or book accommodation 🏠. Whether you choose to sleep under the stars or get cozy after your feats, the atmosphere will remain festive, alpine, and decidedly laid-back 🧘. You run, you walk, you push yourself to the limit, you pull others upward, you stop… and you set off again until exhaustion 🥱.
Once you’ve completed your 42nd loop (or your 2nd—it’s up to you 😌) and your calves are begging for a break, the adventure continues 💥. Visit the Courmayeur Alpine Museum, recover at the heated alpine pool at Plan Chécrouit, or hop on the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car ⬆. If your joints are crying for mercy, you can also try natural cryo 🥶 by dipping your feet in an icy alpine stream. It’s local, it’s free, and it’s radical for putting out the fire smoldering in your shoes 🔥. Enjoy Valdôtaine cuisine by tasting polenta, fontina, carbonade (not to be confused with carbonara), and torta di nocciole for a sweet touch 🥧.
Ready to run yourself ragged? 😵💫 Don’t loops this event!
You have 24 hours to complete as many loops as possible, at your own pace! 🤗 One loop is between 3 and 5 km 🔄.
