Don’t loop miss out ✅.
Get your calves and your best smile ready, because in addition to Courchevel, La Rosière, Morzine or Courmayeur, the crazy MDS Crazy Loops concept is landing in Val-d'Isère at the end of summer for an edition in the heart of Savoie that already promises to be legendary 🤩. The goal is as simple as it is addictive: you have 3, 6, 9, 12 or 24 hours to rack up as many loops as possible on a route of 3 to 5 km📍. If you’re a dedicated runner, you’ll recognize the backyard 🔄 concept—except you’re not required to head back out every hour 🕘. Basically, it’s the pure DNA of the Marathon des Sables dropping in at over 1800 m of altitude for a challenge where you run, you walk, you stop to wolf down a slice of Beaufort, and you set off again under a breathtaking starry sky 🌌. The month of August won’t be restful, we’ll grant you that 😮💨.
As a ski and mountain lover, you probably already know the resort of Val-d'Isère, just a stone’s throw from the border with Italy and hugely popular with outdoor athletes 😍. Located near the Tsanteleina summit and with Mont Blanc in the background, you’ll be able to treat yourself to a true timeless escape between dizzying ridgelines and sunlit alpine pastures 🐑, where the effort almost becomes secondary to the beauty of the show 🤩. But the real magic of the Crazy Loops lies in its supportive and inclusive 🫂 spirit. You share the trail with Para-sport teams, which means you can help them, accompany them, and even help them get up a climb 🥵. On a steeper section, a technical descent, or simply for the joy of sharing, you can at any moment join a Handi team and help out 💪. That’s the beauty of sport 😍. Between loops, the race village becomes the beating heart of the party—you’ll build unique bonds to make it to the end of the adventure 👯♀️. To experience it to the fullest, you have two options: the bivouac package with two nights under an MDS tent, or the self-sufficient package if you prefer to bring your own tent or book accommodation 🏠. Whether you choose to sleep under the stars or get cozy after your feats, the atmosphere will remain festive, alpine, and resolutely laid-back 🧘. You run, you walk, you push yourself to the limit, you lift others up, you stop… and you set off again until you’re wiped out 🥱.
Once you’ve completed your 42nd loop (or your 2nd—it’s up to you 😌) and your calves are begging for a break, the adventure continues 💥. Since you’re already perched up in Val-d'Isère, take advantage of the fact that your legs still work (a little) to go say hello to our neighbors across the Alps ↔️. Italians are widely known for their tasty dishes, but their mountains have nothing to envy compared with France’s highest peaks either 🇫🇷. Monte Rosa or Punta Perrucchetti will leave you with some incredible memories of the region 🏔️. If your joints are crying for mercy, you can also try natural cryotherapy 🥶 by dipping your feet into an icy alpine stream. It’s local, it’s free, and it’s brutally effective at putting out the fire smoldering in your shoes 🔥. And between two slices of Savoie ham and a diot sausage in white wine, don’t forget to dip your bread into a generous fondue —even in the middle of summer, it goes down just fine! 🫕
In August, come wrap up your summer season in Val-d'Isère! 😵💫
You have 24 hours to complete as many loops as possible, at your own pace! 🤗 One loop is between 3 and 5 km 🔄.
