Want to discover a new face of Switzerland? Then come push your limits at the RunThrough Engelberg, in the magnificent Canton of Obwalden in Switzerland! 🌄 Whether you're a mountain enthusiast or a nature lover 🏞️, this competition will awaken your trail runner spirit with its various events. In the middle of August, you'll tackle the numerous trails of this mountain resort, which will take you to the summits ⬆️. The RunThrough events are a benchmark in the trail running world: Girona, Interlaken, or Morzine-Avoriaz, the courses match the high standards of the trail runners who take part! 👑
Several distances are offered, so there are no excuses if you're new to trail running! 👶 25, 56, or 100 km, it's a true weekend of crampons on and poles in hand you'll experience 👟. We almost forgot the smallest event of the race: the 7 km vertical race. Even though it's short, it won't spare your legs, as the course will have you climbing to the top! 🚀 Be prepared for 900 mD+ in the shortest race of the RunThrough Engelberg, compared to over 5,000 for the 100 km. Starting from all courses, you'll traverse the Fürenalp valley and head to the Brunni cable car ⛷️. Thanks to this trail, you'll quickly memorize the ski lifts and piste map 🧠 before the ski season begins! 😝 For ultra-trail runners, several small lakes are to be discovered in the last 30 kilometers, enough to recharge before tackling the final climbs and crossing the finish line! 💪 You won’t lack motivation in this event: the course, the runners, the supporters, and prime weather... This race can only be a success! 🏆
After giving your best, we recommend taking the time to explore the surroundings 🤓. You can visit the magnificent Engelberg Abbey, a haven of peace and history ⛪, or embark on a cable car trip to Mount Titlis for a panoramic view of the entire valley 🤩. If the major Swiss cities intrigue you, we recommend exploring the charming village of Lucerne, with its famous Chapel Bridge and captivating museums, just an hour's drive 🚗 away. If your legs are sore the day after your race 😬, you can easily relax with a walk along the Lake Lucerne, for a dose of nature and serenity 💆♂️.
Don’t wait any longer to experience this unique adventure in Engelberg and let the mountain enchant you! 🏃♂️
At the start of the 100 km, right in the heart of the Engelberg resort, you will follow the 56 km course all the way! Once back in Engelberg, you will receive a round of applause to set off to tackle the remaining 45 km 💪. You will explore the other part of the resort and climb close to Lake Trüebsee. You will trek to Tannalp and finally to Lake Melchsee 🏞️, where you will turn back and head towards the finish line! 🏁
At the start of the 56 km, in the heart of the Engelberg resort, you'll take the same starting route as the 25 km runners! 🤓 Up to the village of Horbis, the track will be the same, but you'll have to climb a little more... Indeed, 2,841 mD+ doesn't climb itself! You'll follow the highest lifts of the resort and make your way to Oberrickenbach, then descend to the Wolfenschissen station 🏘️. Don't worry, you'll have already tackled all the announced elevation and can smoothly head to the finish line at the Engelberg station! 🏁
Starting from the ski resort of Engelberg in Switzerland, you will head towards the golf club ⛳ then continue straight on, passing under the ski lifts. You will cross the Hobielbach River at km 11 before turning back 1 km further. You will start to really feel the elevation gain! 📈 You will climb to the top of the Fürenbach chairlift and then head to the villages of Dagenstal, Horbis, and Nassboden before descending back to the Engelberg resort to cross the finish line! 🏁
Starting at the Engelberg ski resort, you'll make your way up the slopes using the power of your legs! 🦵 Over 7 km, you'll accumulate 900 mD+ and pass close to the ski lifts... Which you won't be able to use to save time ⏳. Blue, red, and black slopes will challenge you throughout this event 😎.
