Meet in the French capital, Paris, of course! 🇨🇵 The city opens its doors for its renowned race: the Sine Qua Non Run! 🌸 This race was created to combat sexual and gender-based violence against women and to promote equality within society. Both women and men are welcome to support together this cause 👫. Additionally, 100% of the profits will be used to finance the RUN, PLAY, FIGHT, RIDE, MOVE FOR EQUALITY program 🫶. The goal of this program is to organize free sports sessions in public spaces in over 30 French cities 📍. Each month, more than 600 women participate in this program 🌐. If you want some details, end of March, at the beginning of spring, the weather in Paris is usually mild, but it's always good to have a light jacket just in case the weather turns moody ☔. On the agenda, 2 events: a 10 km, the flagship distance of the event, and a 6 km to do in competitive mode or at your own pace! 🏆
Behind the initiative of this race is the association Sine Qua Non. It was born from the meeting of three generations of women who are determined to contribute to fighting against gender-based and sexual violence 💥. This movement aims to defend women's right to do sports where they want, when they want, and in whatever attire they choose 👏. Behind this race lies the desire to create a more respectful and egalitarian society 🟰, in which diversity is a strength 💥 for everyone 🤝. To achieve this, they chose sports, which has the power to change lives!
Let's get back to the course... 🗺️ Does Place de la République ring a bell? 🤔 Your race start will happen there, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Your race will start at dusk 🌛, and this schedule was not chosen at random! It corresponds to the time of day when women may feel more threatened. The goal is therefore that they no longer fear running at night. Once you've crossed the finish line, you can be genuinely proud of yourself! The crowd will applaud you, shouting “BRAVOOOO, YOU DID IT!!!” 👏. Excuse us, we're getting a bit carried away! 😅 But this cause is so dear to our hearts that we can't wait for you to participate (and we'd love to do it too, to be honest 👉👈)!
The goal of this race is also to highlight the usefulness of sports in women's lives 🏃. A source of resilience and pride through the achievements 💪, sports also helps to empower women and believe in their abilities. Thanks to sports 🏋, they can more easily claim the place they deserve in society. The Sine Qua Non Run is thus a unique opportunity to support all these wonderful causes 🥰. Isn't that enough to make you want to challenge yourself? 🙌
But you're still in Paris, so take advantage and explore all the wonders the city has to offer! 🤩 First on your TO DO list is the Eiffel Tower. Well, yes, it's only a few kilometers from La Villette. Along the way, you can even stop at Place de la Concorde or make a detour via the Louvre 🖼️. If you want to relax a bit, we suggest a stroll in the Bois de Boulogne 😉. It's said that this wood has multiple attractions and is considered the green lung of the capital 🌳. To conclude your visit to the capital in style, you can enjoy a croque-monsieur 🥪 at a Parisian bistro 🥖, followed by a delicious mille-feuille. You'll see, it's a delight! 🤤
We're telling you straight away, we're coming, but on one Sine Qua Non condition: you come too! 😜
For this 10 km, you will follow the rule and run along the docks just like the 6 km participants! 😉 However, if you're good at counting, 4 km need to be added to the odometer 🧮. Your starting route will be the same as the 6 km, but you won't turn back at the first Bassin de la Villette! You will continue on and run along the second Bassin de la Villette. You'll take the Quai de Gironde, along the Canal Saint-Denis, then make a tour of the Parc de la Villette 🌿. After this nature escapade, you will reach the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq, crossing it at the National Dance Center. Once on the opposite bank, you can readily trust the saying by Dory in Finding Nemo: "Swim Just keep running straight ahead"! 🐠 You will then be able to cross the finish line located at Place de la République 🥰.
We hope you're ready for this 6 km because it's going to go very fast! 🚀 It's a round trip along the Canal Saint-Martin that you're about to take. You will first follow the Quai Valmy, where you can admire the Jardin Villemin Mahsa Jîna Amini 🌼 and the Pont Maria Casarès 🌉. You will already reach the Jaurès metro station and the Rotonde de la Villette then head back down on the Quai de la Seine. At the end of the Bassin de la Villette, it will be time for you to turn around and join the other bank ⬅️. In the same way, you will take the Quai de la Loire then the Quai de Jemmapes. You will cross no less than 5 bridges on your way but will tread the one located next to the Palais des Glaces to head towards the finish line, Place de la République! Magnificent, isn't it? 🏁

The Sine Qua Non association, in partnership with Harmonie Mutuelle, is launching a major nationwide citizen consultation, “Les bruits qui courent” (“The rumours you hear”), to highlight the feelings and experiences of women who practice outdoor sports—so we can identify what holds them back and take concrete action for gender equality.
This consultation, run with support from the citizen mobilisation platform Civocracy, is structured in three phases:
• From January 24 → Name it
A questionnaire aiming to collect 10,000 responses to better understand what women experience when exercising outdoors—and what would make it possible for them to do so everywhere, freely and safely.
• In spring → Share it
An open consultation phase to share findings, bring forward ideas, and collectively develop proposals to help public policy evolve toward more equal access to sport in public spaces. These will be summarised in a white paper to be presented in June.
• Summer 2026 → Change it
Turning proposals into concrete commitments, through co-creating a charter for sports event organisers and rolling out actions with cities and sports stakeholders.
