The event in a few words

The Hoka Paris Half Marathon takes place in early March in the heart of the city of lovers (of running), Paris! 😌 Yes indeed, this true people’s celebration welcomes more than 45,000 participants to renew this pure tradition of running in Île-de-France 🥳. For this legendary road race of 21.097 km, you’ll need solid physical preparation 🏋️‍♀️. Good thing everything is planned: training sessions are offered ahead of time to refine your condition (VO2 max tests, hill sessions, strength & conditioning, long runs) and nutrition advice will also be provided so you know how to run in the city to perfection. You can smell it from here—you’ll be more than ready for an event that often serves as a dress rehearsal for the Paris Marathon 💪. So we’ll see you there in the fresh spring temperatures to take part in the Paris Half Marathon and run through the streets filled with landmarks of the French capital 🇫🇷.

Well, if you keep up regularly with the latest running news, you should know that since 2027, the bib allocation system has been completely revamped 🎽. So that everyone has the best possible chance to take part and to promote an equal sport, the organizers decided to introduce a lottery draw, like for the biggest marathons in the world 🌍, like London or New York. Yet another proof of the scale of the event 😉. As for how the draw works, it couldn’t be simpler: you get an initial period to sign up on the lists. Once the registration deadline is reached, an official draw is held, and bibs are awarded to the 45,000 lucky ones 🍀. So, ready to give it a try? 🤓

A race in Paris 🗼 is always a magnificent walking excursion amid the stunning buildings of the City of Light 💡. Hard to find a more beautiful place to run! 😇 The start line of your half will be located on Saint-Germain Boulevard, opposite Île Saint-Louis, and your finish will be at Place de la Bastille 🗡️. Along the route, you’ll meet motivated finishers thirsty for victory and performance as they beat their personal best ⏱️. On that note, you’ll also see seasoned athletes, since every year several participants battle for first place and try to crush the standing records. Currently, for the men, it’s the Kenyan Roncer Kipkorir who, since 2023, has held the record with 59 minutes and 38 seconds 🤯. For the women, it’s his counterpart Sheila Chepkuru, also since 2023, with 1 hour, 6 minutes and 1 second 😮‍💨.

You too, take the plunge—but not into the Seine 😅. On the program for your “touristy-running” visit: you’ll fly down the Seine riverbanks and cross the Tolbiac Bridge. Along the way, you’ll have passed the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Jardin des Plantes 🌷, the imposing François Mitterrand Library 📚 and the famous Quai d’Auzterlist. You’ll then head toward the Bois de Vincennes to enjoy a beautiful green haven. But of course, as you can imagine, you’ll also admire its magnificent castle! 🏰 What would a visit to Vincennes be without it? 🫣 After a few strides past the Paris Zoo, you’ll return to the riverbanks, passing the Accor Arena 🏟️. You’ll still need to follow the river’s edge for a few kilometers, up to the Quai des Célestins, before turning onto Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint-Antoine to reach the finish line at Place de la Bastille 🏁. Once your Paris Half Marathon is in the bag, all that’s left is to share the euphoria with everyone else! 🎉

The chef’s surprise: this must-do race with an unbeatable atmosphere has plenty of entertainment of all kinds in store for you. Yes, despite the competitive mood, know that the festive dimension of the event is recognized worldwide 🌎. So, in addition to the crowd’s cheers, marching bands, music and warm, welcoming aid stations will carry you—like a wild one—toward the finish line! 🥁 The Paris Half isn’t only about performance 🙅‍♀️. It’s also a race committed to the planet ♻️. Europe’s fourth most populated city raises awareness about protecting the environment 👏. That’s why the organizers highlight an eco-responsible approach 👍. They also continue their human commitment by making the race accessible to para-athletes 🦽 and by promoting sport with the creation of a connected race 📱. When the new season starts, thanks to the challenge available in the app, you’ll be able to take part for free with your duo 👯‍♀️ and try to win lots of gifts 🎁. We recommend taking photos of your pair and sending them to the organization 📸. There—almost everything has been said...

Oh wait! It’s true that Paris is the city of running and love 🫶. But you know it’s also the city of gastronomy and the croissant! 🥐 Of course, that’s not the only thing to enjoy after a race! 😆 You’ve also got the traditional, unbeatable ham-and-butter baguette, the croque-monsieur, French onion soup, and macarons 😋. Above all, take your time to savor and regain your strength... you’ll need it to take part in the Paris Marathon a few weeks later! 😜

Shall we place our bets?

Running is great, but turning your beads of sweat into solidarity is even better. By running here, you support initiatives like the Étendart association, which helps young people from working-class neighborhoods discover the joys of running 🏃‍♂️. But that’s not all: during the event, they do selective sorting, zero-waste-on-the-ground aid stations, and collect tons of textiles. It’s also an inclusive event, welcoming para-athletes and proving that sport is the most beautiful of human connectors 🌿.
