Paris Marathon 2027

The event in a few words

Come and discover the monuments of the capital 🇫🇷 on the occasion of THE most popular race in Paris right in the heart of Île-de-France : the Paris Marathon! 42.195 km is no small feat 😨, but don’t worry: your registration 📝 includes a training plan that matches your goals! 🎯 Enough to maybe hope to break the race record! 🤯 The men’s record 🚹 has been held since 2021 by Kenyan Elisha Rotich with 2 hours, 4 minutes and 21 seconds 🚀. On the women’s side 🚺, it’s the Ethiopian Shure Demise who has held it since 2026. She crossed the finish line 2 hours, 18 minutes and 34 seconds after the start 🏎️. A 4 km race on Saturday is also on the program!

If you keep up regularly with the latest running news, you should know that since 2027, the bib allocation system has been completely revamped 🎽. To give everyone the best possible chance to take part and promote an equal sport, the organization decided to implement a lottery draw, as is done for the world’s biggest marathons 🌍, such as London or New York. Yet another sign of the scale of the event 😉. As for how the draw works, it’s simple: you get an initial period to sign up on the lists. Once the registration deadline has passed, an official lottery is held, and bibs are allocated to the 60,000 lucky ones 🍀. So, ready to give it a try? 🤓

In total, seven arrondissements will be covered, for an exceptional walking-and-running adventure in Paris 🤩. More than just a tour, it’s almost an American-style show that’s on offer here thanks to extraordinary organization 🤯. Your heart 💓 will be racing even before the starter’s gun thanks to the entertainment 🥳, music groups 🥁 and a delirious crowd cheering you on from start to finish ! 🙌 Its electric atmosphere ⚡️ will quickly make you forget the threat of rain and the temperatures in April 🌦️. What’s more, starts will be staggered depending on your target time ⏱️. So you’ll be sure to be running at the right pace thanks to around thirty highly trained pacers 🐇.

No fewer than 250,000 spectators will give you wings 🪽 thanks to their encouragement all along the route 👏. Even if you struggle and hit the 30 km wall in your legs 🦵, you’ll feel like a race champion ! 🏆 This marathon is so legendary that its reputation goes beyond borders 🌍. Each year, 60,000 participants, including 23,000 runners from 145 different nationalities, come to take part in this event 🤓. Plenty of opportunities to make new friends ! ✋ And the good news of the day is that the Paris Marathon is open to para-athletes. So whether you’re in a joëlette or you just need to be accompanied, you’re welcome! ♿️

The little extra of the weekend is the organization of the "Paris Run for All", a 4 km warm-up race in Paris, the day before the marathon. Unlike the latter, the 4 km is accessible from age 12 🧑. A quick family outing! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Outside of the race, you can also enjoy around sixty activities and take part in the Run Expérience. It starts three days before the big day at Porte de Versailles and welcomes on average 80,000 visitors and 200 professionals for a shared moment centered on the love of running 🏃‍♀️. The Paris Marathon is truly spoiled when it comes to records: in addition to being the only French race to hold the Elite label from the World Athletics Label Road Races, it’s also the world’s second-largest marathon, after the New York City Marathon 🍎 (which has the highest number of finishers) 🏁.

Come and be part of the running legend in Paris. It’s an extraordinary experience ! ⭐
