The event in a few words

Imagine a country so small you could almost run across it—well, that’s exactly what thousands of trail runners do every year in June! 🏃‍♂️

Welcome to Andorra—or more precisely, to the Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB®, the event that proves you don’t need a huge territory to host an outrageously big adventure 🤪. Let’s start with the playground, because it’s honestly unlikely. Andorra covers 468 km² and has a population of around 86,000... Roughly the size of the city of Lyon, but in mountain mode. The country’s average elevation flirts with 2,000 meters, making it the highest country in Europe by that measure, and its capital Andorra la Vella is also the highest capital in Europe, perched at 1,013 meters ⬆️. In short: even people doing their grocery shopping at the supermarket live at altitude. So imagine the trail runners 😅. The country has 65 peaks over 2,500 meters, and its highest point, Coma Pedrosa, rises to 2,943 meters. It’s this very summit that runners in the 105K will have the joy (and the pain) of climbing during the race 📈.

Let’s talk distances, because this is where the organization really thought of everyone 🗺️. The range is broad: 10 km, 24.9 km, 50 km, 80 km and the ultimate grail, 105 km. The idea is simple: everyone can test their limits while exploring Andorra’s rich cultural heritage. The 10K with its 500 mD+ is ideal if you want to taste the vibe without being sore the next day 🦵. The 21K (which is actually 24.9 km 😬) offers 1,350 mD+. The 50K raises the bar to 3,400 mD+, which is roughly the equivalent of climbing the Eiffel Tower… 97 times 🤯. And then there’s the monster: the ultra 105K that loops around the whole country, topping out on some of the Principality’s many summits, including Pico del Comapedrosa, the highest point in Andorra, with incredible views 😍, endless trails, and a multitude of lakes 🏞️. With 6,900m of positive elevation gain, it’s the kind of race where you arrive thinking you’re an athlete and leave wondering if you’re actually sane 😂.

But the effort is worth it—and we’re not only talking about the landscapes you’ll cross! 😉 What’s great about the Trail 100 Andorra is that the race is part of the UTMB World Series circuit—in other words, it’s the real deal 💪. Slopes reach 20, 25, even over 35% in places for several kilometers, turning certain sections into a genuine climbing route in the middle of nature 🧗. Wet granite blocks, roots, exposed ridgelines… And yet runners come back 🤓. Why? Because there’s something unique about running through an entire country 🌄. Bonus info for your companions or your post-race activities: Caldea, the largest spa in the Pyrenees, is right next door, at the foot of the mountains 🏔️. Because after 105 km and 6,900 mD+, a bubbling bath is well deserved. It’s even mandatory 🛁. And one last thing we think is really cool: the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, which some of the trails used during the race pass through, was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 in the category of cultural landscapes. In other words, when you run in Andorra, you’re not just crossing mountains—you’re crossing a heritage of humanity, trail shoes on your feet 👟. That’s quite a way to put your sneakers to work 😎.

Andorra awaits you 💪.
