The event in a few words

Do you know why the flag of Nepal is the only one shaped like two stacked triangles? 🇳🇵 It references the unique mountain range where you will soon be running: the Himalayas 🤩. This is what the Yeti Wildmarathon of Nepal offers, a race through the most spectacular landscapes of Asia. The challenge takes place in the month of October, a period of cool and sunny weather 🌞 in the region, perfect for giving it your all on race day! 💪

The marathon in Nepal offers you the opportunity to run 3 distances, all composed of 75% trails and 25% roads. You can also choose to take up the challenge as a team 👥 of up to 5 members. For a smooth entry into the mountains ⛰️ and a complete change of scenery, opt for the 10km race. If you're a half-marathon enthusiast looking for new horizons, the 21km circuit is for you. The course is flatter and less technical than the marathon, and the scenery is just as spectacular 😍. If you are a seasoned marathoner, the impressive 42 km course is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It is also an unusual course, mostly downhill 📉 with 2800m of descent and 256m of ascent 🏃‍♂️. Inclined sections at over 30% will make your thighs burn 💥, but the pain will be nothing compared to the beauty of the Nepalese mountains 🌄. Beyond the scenery, you'll also observe monuments and unique places rich in history, with locals who will greet you with a warm "Namaste" at each meeting 🙌. This year, the start is at the Shree Karka temple ⛩️ and ends in the picturesque village of Chame.

For your information, the organizers have chosen the best dates to avoid heat 🥵, cold 🥶, and relentless rainfall of the monsoon 🌧️. The month of October in Nepal is characterized by dry weather with little chance of rain. The weather conditions will be different on this downhill course 📉: the start peaks at 4080m above sea level with a finish area at 2740m. At this time of year, temperatures range from 5 to 20 degrees. We recommend bringing warm clothes 🧦 for the cool start. No worries! If it gets warm, you can drop off your warm clothing at the unloading point set up along the course 😉.

The Wildmarathon of Nepal is much more than a race, it is an experience of several days in the heart of the Himalayas 🏞️. If you register, you're not just participating in the marathon; you're joining an immersive 11-day adventure with lodging 🏠, meals 🍽️, tours 🌆, and activities included ✅. The program includes exploring Kathmandu, tasting traditional dishes 🍲, excursions to temples and hot springs, and stretching and running sessions 🏃‍♂️. The organization also includes 5 days of trekking through the Nepalese terrain, from the village of Pisang to Manang, known for their lodges hosting trekkers 🛖. Whatever distance you choose, you will be perfectly acclimated to the altitude and ready for your race 💪. If you're still hungry for adventure 😋 after your 11 days of adventure, extend your stay and choose the optional "Yeti Marathon + Climbing" program, offering the ascent of Pisang Peak with a guide at 6091 m altitude 🧗‍♀️.

Why not extend your stay on your own? We have plenty of amazing things to suggest! 😁 Just a one-hour drive away, you can explore local wonders and take in the sights 🤩. You could visit one of the highest lakes in the world, Tilicho Lake, or dive into Nepalese culture and unravel the mystery of the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist monuments 🕌. If you're a thrill-seeker, embark on a rafting session 🛶 on the Kali Gandaki River. And after a race like this, a moment of relaxation is well-deserved 🧘. Head to unwind at the hot springs of Tatopani, where water ranging from 40 to 60 degrees fills two large pools at the foot of the mountains 🧖‍♀️. Recovery guaranteed! On the gastronomy side 🤤, try the national dish called "Dal Bhat" 🍛, made of rice and lentil soup, often accompanied by chicken or fish. For a snack, the undefeated champion is tea☕️, but if you want to celebrate your medal 🥇 and try the Nepalese festive drink, ask for a Rakshi! 🥃 To be consumed in moderation, of course.

So, ready to take the challenge and live an unforgettable adventure? Get your plane tickets and fly out for the Yeti Wildmarathon of Nepal! ✈️ Guaranteed sporting and spiritual adventure, no doubt you'll meet the Yeti 👣.
