Do you know why the Flag of Nepal is the only one made up of two stacked triangles? 🇳🇵 It references the unique mountain range where you will soon run: the Himalayas 🤩. This is what the Yeti Wildmarathon of Nepal offers, a race that crosses the most spectacular landscapes in Asia. The challenge takes place in the month of October, a cool and sunny 🌞 period in the region, perfect for giving it your all on D-day! 💪
The marathon in Nepal offers you the opportunity to run 3 distances, all consisting of 75% trails and 25% road. You can also choose to take on the challenge in a team 👥 of up to 5 people. For a gentle entry into the mountain ⛰️ and a total change of scenery, opt for the 10km race. If you're a semi-marathon enthusiast looking for new horizons, the 21km route is for you. The course is flatter and less technical than the marathon, and the landscapes are just as spectacular 😍. If you are an experienced marathon runner, the impressive 42 km route is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It's also an unusual route, primarily composed of descents 📉 with 2800m of descent and 256m of ascent 🏃♂️. However, inclines of over 30% will surely put your quads to the test 💥, but the pain will be nothing compared to the beauty of the Nepalese mountains 🌄. Beyond the landscapes, you will also see unique monuments and sites filled with history, with locals greeting you with a warm "Namaste" at every encounter 🙌.
For your information, the organizers have carefully selected the best dates to avoid heat 🥵, cold 🥶, and the torrential rains of the monsoon 🌧️. October in Nepal is characterized by dry weather with minimal chance of rain. At this time of year, temperatures range between 5 and 20 degrees. We recommend bringing warm clothing 🧦 for the cool start. Don't worry! If it gets too warm, you can drop your warm clothes at the unloading point set up along the route 😉.
