Tossa the water! 💦 These are the words that will kick off the last event of the triathlon of the TriTour circuit in Catalonia 📍. After the events in Deltebre, Cambrils and El Pont de Suert, you'll be settling in Tossa de Mar 🧳, just a step away from Lloret de Mar, the city of fiestaaa! 🥳 Under the September sun, you'll switch between disciplines along the seaside 🌊, the mountain, the nature and the city... 🏙️ We've seen worse settings, right? 😎
To enjoy this postcard landscape 🖼️, two events are available to you: a triathlon S (Sprint) and a triathlon M (Olympic)! The Sprint is the shortest format with 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running! 🏃➡️ So it’s perfect for speed lovers or for beginners in the discipline! 👶 For the Olympic, it’ll be a bit longer with 1.5 km of swimming 🏊♀️, 40 km of cycling 🚴♂️ and 10 km of running. Swimming in the Mediterranean, biking in the mountains, running on the road and flat terrain: if that's not the description of a dream event? 🤩 Although, yes, the bike will make your legs burn with the climbs, but the view will be worth the candle the pedal stroke! 📈 You'll ascend to the summit of the Cadiretes Massif (or Ardenya), at 519 m altitude! ⛰️ You'll have a breathtaking view of the Girona province before descending back to Tossa to finish it all! 🏁
And because you will have given your all during your event 💪, we’ve got a relaxation program to enjoy the Costa Brava! 😎 To learn a bit more about the land that hosted your weekend’s achievement 🏆, a visit to the walls of the Vila Vella will be indispensable! 🤓 To learn even more about the history of the town, you must go to the Roman Villa Els Ametllers or the ruins of the Sant Vicenç church ⛪. Be careful with the ruins: it’s a climb! 🥵 If the TriTour Tossa de Mar has gotten the best of you, you can head to the beach and relax on a sunbed with the sound of the waves 💆♂️.
Well, that's all for now, but we’re expecting you in Tossa! 😉
No need to be a demigod to embark on this triathlon "Olympic" format! 🏅
Good preparation should suffice 😉. Here is our program, to be followed and repeated in the right order: lift weights to prepare your arms to tackle the 1.5 km of swimming in open water 🌊. Then, follow up with strengthening your thighs for the cycling 🚴 stage. Finally, it’s your calves that you’ll need to bet on if you want to conquer the 10 km run 😎.
So, saddle up! 💨
Beware of this event 👀. They call it the "Sprint" format, but you'll see that you'll still need to work on your endurance 😅. The combination of the three disciplines will challenge your cardio in every way 🫀. Be ready, Tossa de Mar doesn't plan to let you catch your breath 😮💨.
