The event in a few words

In October, pull on your best bib shorts and get out of your bedroom! 🍂

This edition of the famous GravelMan Series circuit ✹ takes place in OrlĂ©ans, in the Loiret department (nothing to do with the Loire or the loir đŸżïž). This time, for the greater good of your legs, you won’t be pedaling between mountain ranges and high-altitude summits đŸ”ïž, as the Annecy event can offer, but rather between fields, rolling hills and countryside. The event is meant to be more flowing đŸšČ, and should be more accessible than some editions (we’re thinking in particular of the GravelMan Series Marrakech, the Basque Country or Annecy, where factors such as heat and altitude come to "throw a wrench in your plans" 😰). Just before the end-of-year holidays, enjoy the OrlĂ©ans landscapes and come taste the air of the beautiful Centre-Val de Loire region đŸŒŹïž.

For the occasion, the organizers have put together a nice bundle of distances for you, from which you can pick as you like 😎: 60 km and 800 mD+, 120 km and 1,500 mD+, 200 km and 2,500 mD+, 350 and 4,000 mD+ or even 500 km and 5,000 mD+—you’ll be spoiled for choice. The first routes will let you get familiar with how the GravelMan Series works, its atmosphere and its special features ⚙. For example, you’ll discover that the race plan will only be sent to you a few days before the race, so any scouting is impossible ❌. You’ll be riding by sight 👀. Once you’ve fully grasped the event’s mechanism, you can line up for the 200 km and 350 km. Although the Loiret isn’t known for being the hilliest place in France đŸ‡«đŸ‡·, we can assure you that you’ll still find some elevation gain on your route. You might even wonder whether you’ve changed regions 😳. Finally, if you’re in your "superhero" era, no need to dress up—getting through the 500 km will already be representative enough. Like Joan of Arc, show courage and perseverance to conquer this route. Your thighs will feel like they’re rubbing against real cliffs, even though you won’t have left the center of France đŸŠ”. What’s more, the advantage of all these editions is that they can be done on a road bike as well as on a gravel bike. If you want to avoid urbanization and paved roads as much as possible, you’ll have between 60 and 70% trails and forest tracks to satisfy your cravings đŸŒ±.

Now that you’re in OrlĂ©ans, take the opportunity to discover all the History and local heritage. You’ll quickly find out that the local star is Robin Hood Joan of Arc đŸč: not the kind of star who dances or sings well, but rather the type of figure who frees entire cities during the Hundred Years’ War đŸ€©. Nothing less. She now holds a huge place in the city’s history, and you’ll be able to run into her (as a statue, obviously 🗿) in several iconic spots in OrlĂ©ans. If you like the area and decide to come back in May, you can also discover the Joan of Arc Festival of OrlĂ©ans 🎉, an event in her honor 🙌. Want to catch your breath and wander in the great outdoors? The banks of the Loire are full of paths and hikes just waiting to be enjoyed.

Between history, physical challenge and natural discovery, the GravelMan Series OrlĂ©ans has everything you need for a timeless getaway â€ïžâ€đŸ”„.

4 reasons to join this race

An adventure more than a race 🌮
Whether you line up for the 350 or the 500 km, you can be sure the event won’t be "just" a sporting challenge ❌. Between the scenery, the atmosphere, and the length of the race, we can guarantee you’ll see every color and every shape 🎹. After 24 hours, you might know your bike better than some of your friends đŸ€Ł.
Being alone and self-sufficient 👀
Knowing how to manage yourself is one of the most important things in Gravel and Road cycling races. You set off into the unknown, but you need to be prepared and ready for anything: punctures, a dropped chain, hypoglycemia... Don’t leave with just your bike and two bottles. Aid stations are several hours of pedaling apart. The good side is that you’ll come out of it more experienced and proud to have handled it on your own 😎.
The ideal mix between asphalt and gravel đŸ›Łïž
5 distances and ten races on offer—doesn’t that sound like paradise? 💭 You’ll be able to choose between Road and Gravel versions over 60 km, 120 km, 200 km, 350 km, and 500 km. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to complete this journey in 10h or 52h
If you’re adventurous but not too much, go for the distances doable in a day. If the unknown and the kilometers don’t scare you, you have what it takes and you really want it, aim for the top and the 500 km! đŸ«Ą
A city steeped in History 📚
There are many stories surrounding the city and the figure of Joan of Arc. When you go there, you’ll have that feeling of traveling through time 😳. OrlĂ©ans Cathedral (Sainte-Croix), the House of Joan of Arc, and the HĂŽtel Groslot will blow you away 🏰.
