Run, climb, carry, run, lift, crawl, run, climb, crossâŠ đ„” Now thatâs a challenge that makes you dream. Oh yes, Spartan Berlin doesnât mess around when it comes to effort. No room for that little âI donât feel like it, Iâm lazyâ momentâhere, motivation and rage will prevail đ„. Forget right away the tourist clichĂ© with his suspenders and his pretzel; youâre coming to crawl in the mud and tame the obstacles đ§.
The scene is set: weâre taking you to Beelitz, in the heart of Germany, right at the gates of Berlin đ. Itâs the flagship meeting of the month of August for everyone who wants to test their mental strength đ. The Spargelhof-Klaistow estate, where youâll be sweating, is especially famous for its asparagus đ€. Who knowsâyou might even dig some up đ±. Well, if youâre going to do an obstacle race, you might as well do it with the world leader, right? Come onâcome become a true Spartan âïž.
Basically, Spartan is THE race that will get you dirty, let you enjoy yourself, and push you beyond your limits đ„. Fierce, strong, motivated and determined: those are the qualities youâll need. Add trail-style running and obstacles of all kinds. Starting to picture it? Do you know 300? You know, the movie about the Battle of Thermopylae, where they seem superhuman and valiant on all fronts? 𫥠Well, thatâll be a bit like you during this race. On the program, of course, thereâs running, but above all punctuated by original challenges. Donât be scared by the English names that will pop upâsince it originated in the United States, the obstacles all have English-sounding names! đșđž For example, the âBarbed tire crawlâ: a crossing under barbed wire đȘ, âthe Helixâ: climbing a slanted wall, or the âRope Climbâ, which will test your ability to climb a rope đȘą. In short, you quickly understand that youâll need solid motivation to start. Whether itâs to push yourself, prove something, or confirm what youâre made of, you definitely have a good reason to take on this challenge.
Of course, thereâs something for everyone, and above all for all levels, so no excuses â. We start with the âSprintâ, explosive and fast: a 5 km race with 20 obstacles to clear. You can also double down with the âSuperâ, which sends you out on 10 km of running and 25 obstacles on the course. Finally, we move on to the mythical distances with the âBeastâ: a 21 km and 30 obstacles scattered around (thatâs quite the half-marathonâŠ). Then again, it seems there are still true Spartans on earth, and they understood that well đ€Ł. Thatâs why thereâs also the âSpartan Hurricane Heatâ format, lasting 4h, in a pure endurance and self-transcendence format đȘ. Weighted river crossings, navigation, crawling under barbed wire or through pure mud⊠đ« Thereâs truly enough to leave you as a sports beast. We did say it was âfor everyoneâ, so you might as well test yourself from the youngest age with the "Kids Race" of 1 to 3 km with 10 to 20 obstacles! đŠ Besides, with formats this wild, you have the option to do these races as a duo. Despite starting and finishing together, on the obstacles itâs only one of the two participants who will have to take them on (itâs up to you to see whether you alternate fairly đ€).
For this German edition, the challenge is huge! Whatever the distance, youâll see every color: mud, sand, dirt, grass... And here, many people chain all three distances in one goâ36 km and 75 obstaclesâthis is not the most restful weekend đ”. Oh yes, being able to call yourself a Spartan finisher, you have to earn it! âš To add a little extra challenge, if within a calendar year (or in one weekend đ”âđ«) you finish a Sprint + Super + Beast format, you can start collecting the Trifecta đ . A completely unique medal, to assemble race by race. Itâll bring you into an exclusive circle and, above all, forge a pure, hardcore warrior mindset. Besides, to get it, itâs better to take part in other races! We suggest Spartan St.Pölten, Spartan Zell am See-Kaprun or Spartan Kulmbach. With that, youâve got plenty to kick off the collection đ„.
For this Berlin edition, the post-race is just as interesting as the rest đ. In the largest city in Germany and in Europe, you can imagine thereâs no shortage of activities. An hourâs drive away, youâve got historic monuments: the Holocaust Memorial, the Reichstag Palace or the Brandenburg Gate đïž. Or museums: for that, nothing could be simplerâthe Museum Island seems pretty effective. Then, outdoor outings in the many parks will surely be appreciated too đ§ââïž. And of course, typical German tastings: currywurst, pretzels, Kartoffelpuffer and Berlin donutsâwith that, your belly will be stretched tight! đ
No time to complainâthe Spartan is waiting for you, along with your motivation and your warrior mindset đ.
A word from the organizer:
"Berlinâs One Day Trifecta is not for the faint-hearted. Itâs the ultimate test of Spartan determination. Whether youâre coming to tackle your very first 5K Sprint, or youâre ready to conquer all three distances in a single epic day, Berlin promises sand, mud, sweat, and immense pride at the finish line. Get ready to make history. AROO!"
A half-marathon, yes, but not only đ«Ł. On top of that, we add a nice list of 30 obstacles to get through, to spice up the race a little. To give you an example, here are a few activities waiting for you:
In short, now you just have to get really, really, really prepared đ„”.
A 10 km is nice, but with 25 obstacles on top it sounds even better đ«Ą. We hope you agree with that statement, because look at whatâs been prepared for you:
Oh yes, this isnât a 10 km like youâre used to doing on your Sunday outing! đ€Ł
A 5 km sprint? Uh, yes, almostâjust with 20 obstacles in the middle... đ« Such as:
Weâll give you thatâitâs a rather special 5 km! đ„
4 h of effort, endurance, strength, and mental toughness đ§ . In an unpredictable event, at the start, youâre thrown a bit into the unknown, with just one goal: finish this race. Originally created in 2011, to repair obstacles damaged during a stormy night in the middle of a race, it has now become an institution in Spartan races đ.
The Hurricane Heat format prepares different obstacles for you, which will transform you and forge an unbreakable mindset đȘš. Between mud, river crossings, and steep climbs, youâll have plenty to do to fill those 4 hours đŠ.
Spartan therefore offers a format adapted for younger participants, with a 1 to 3 km race dotted with 10 to 20 obstacles đ§.
