The event in a few words

Run, climb, carry, run, lift, crawl, run, climb, cross
đŸ„” Now that’s a challenge that makes you dream. Oh yes, Spartan Berlin doesn’t mess around when it comes to effort. No room for that little “I don’t feel like it, I’m lazy” moment—here, motivation and rage will prevail đŸ’„. Forget right away the tourist clichĂ© with his suspenders and his pretzel; you’re coming to crawl in the mud and tame the obstacles 🚧.

The scene is set: we’re taking you to Beelitz, in the heart of Germany, right at the gates of Berlin 📍. It’s the flagship meeting of the month of August for everyone who wants to test their mental strength 😈. The Spargelhof-Klaistow estate, where you’ll be sweating, is especially famous for its asparagus đŸ€“. Who knows—you might even dig some up đŸŒ±. Well, if you’re going to do an obstacle race, you might as well do it with the world leader, right? Come on—come become a true Spartan ⚔.

Basically, Spartan is THE race that will get you dirty, let you enjoy yourself, and push you beyond your limits đŸ”„. Fierce, strong, motivated and determined: those are the qualities you’ll need. Add trail-style running and obstacles of all kinds. Starting to picture it? Do you know 300? You know, the movie about the Battle of Thermopylae, where they seem superhuman and valiant on all fronts? đŸ«Ą Well, that’ll be a bit like you during this race. On the program, of course, there’s running, but above all punctuated by original challenges. Don’t be scared by the English names that will pop up—since it originated in the United States, the obstacles all have English-sounding names! đŸ‡ș🇾 For example, the “Barbed tire crawl”: a crossing under barbed wire đŸȘ, “the Helix”: climbing a slanted wall, or the “Rope Climb”, which will test your ability to climb a rope đŸȘą. In short, you quickly understand that you’ll need solid motivation to start. Whether it’s to push yourself, prove something, or confirm what you’re made of, you definitely have a good reason to take on this challenge.

Of course, there’s something for everyone, and above all for all levels, so no excuses ❌. We start with the “Sprint”, explosive and fast: a 5 km race with 20 obstacles to clear. You can also double down with the “Super”, which sends you out on 10 km of running and 25 obstacles on the course. Finally, we move on to the mythical distances with the “Beast”: a 21 km and 30 obstacles scattered around (that’s quite the half-marathon
). Then again, it seems there are still true Spartans on earth, and they understood that well đŸ€Ł. That’s why there’s also the “Spartan Hurricane Heat” format, lasting 4h, in a pure endurance and self-transcendence format đŸ’Ș. Weighted river crossings, navigation, crawling under barbed wire or through pure mud
đŸ«Ÿ There’s truly enough to leave you as a sports beast. We did say it was “for everyone”, so you might as well test yourself from the youngest age with the "Kids Race" of 1 to 3 km with 10 to 20 obstacles! đŸ‘Š Besides, with formats this wild, you have the option to do these races as a duo. Despite starting and finishing together, on the obstacles it’s only one of the two participants who will have to take them on (it’s up to you to see whether you alternate fairly đŸ€“).

For this German edition, the challenge is huge! Whatever the distance, you’ll see every color: mud, sand, dirt, grass... And here, many people chain all three distances in one go—36 km and 75 obstacles—this is not the most restful weekend đŸ˜”. Oh yes, being able to call yourself a Spartan finisher, you have to earn it! ✹ To add a little extra challenge, if within a calendar year (or in one weekend đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«) you finish a Sprint + Super + Beast format, you can start collecting the Trifecta 🏅. A completely unique medal, to assemble race by race. It’ll bring you into an exclusive circle and, above all, forge a pure, hardcore warrior mindset. Besides, to get it, it’s better to take part in other races! We suggest Spartan St.Pölten, Spartan Zell am See-Kaprun or Spartan Kulmbach. With that, you’ve got plenty to kick off the collection đŸ„‡.

For this Berlin edition, the post-race is just as interesting as the rest 😆. In the largest city in Germany and in Europe, you can imagine there’s no shortage of activities. An hour’s drive away, you’ve got historic monuments: the Holocaust Memorial, the Reichstag Palace or the Brandenburg Gate đŸ›ïž. Or museums: for that, nothing could be simpler—the Museum Island seems pretty effective. Then, outdoor outings in the many parks will surely be appreciated too đŸ§˜â€â™€ïž. And of course, typical German tastings: currywurst, pretzels, Kartoffelpuffer and Berlin donuts—with that, your belly will be stretched tight! 😋

No time to complain—the Spartan is waiting for you, along with your motivation and your warrior mindset 😎.
