The event in a few words

24 hours non-stop? Yes, yes, you read that right, the T24 Xtrem Triathlon, is no joke 😬. Anyway, just the name alone tells you it's an extreme event 😶. Here we meet in Carantec, in the beautiful and large Finistère 🇫🇷. For this challenge, a big dose of nature awaits you 💉. In terms of scenery, it's served on a silver platter: seaside, hiking trails, viewpoints, bay, villages... 🏞️ But watch out, it's not as flat as it seems. It's a bit like lots of little tricks, in Brittany it climbs a bit, then descends, then climbs again....📈 Stringing together the swimming, the cycling, and the running, you'll end up with legs on fire 🔥. Your month of June will be punctuated by this challenge, which will get you fit for the summer holidays (well, if you have any) 🏖️. Well, given what's planned, doing it alone can be daunting, but NO PANIC, 95% of participants take on this challenge with others! Yes, you can do all this in duo or in relay of 4 or 6. 👯‍♀️

Okay, enough talking, let us present the crazy concept that awaits you 🙌. The goal is simple: do the triathlon for as long as possible in 24 hours 🕛. For this, you'll have a clear program with 4 hours of swimming to start 🏊. On a loop of 1,000 m, you will need to complete as many laps as possible 🔄. Little advantage, you and your colleagues will have the sensation of being on a real trip, with an Australian exit for each lap completed! 🇦🇺 Jokes aside, this is just the beginning of the challenge 💫. After this first step, it's time for the bike 🚲. A tour of 20 km will be mapped out and a piece of advice: enjoy it because you'll be around it for 12 hours, nonstop 🛑. Same principle: the more laps you complete, the more points you earn ➕. With that, the night might feel long, but save some energy, it's not over just yet 👀. If your calculations are correct, there remain 8 hours of running 📋. For this final event, the team will have to give it their all, to complete the 5 km until exhaustion 🤪. Well, by this stage, unless you are superheroes, your mind will take over for the end of this challenge ⚡️.

One might wonder: how does one win? ✅ For every kilometer completed and depending on the discipline, you gain a certain number of points. For swimming, at each kilometer, you'll validate 15 points 🙂. For biking and running, 1 km will earn you 1 point. So don't aim for 1,000,000, that might be complicated… 🌧️ For your information, the maximum points acquired in a T24 challenge is 1,204 points! That's setting the bar quite high 🧐. By the way, if you like this concept, keep a motivated team because there are in other cities! 😄 There's one: in Ré Island, at the Mont Blanc, and in Bormes-les-Mimosas 📍. Already to do one, you have to be crazy, so why not push the limit and do others, right? 😆

WHEW! This isn't a challenge you'll do every day, that's for sure 🥵. But at the end of the day, you'll be more than proud of yourself, or of all of you, that's a given! ✊ Given the 24 hours ahead, you'll surely want a little rest 💤. In the region, you have plenty to organize a nice stay. At Carantec, there are hikes perfect for discovering all the surrounding landscapes: beaches, countryside, oyster fields... 😍 Well, on the downside, you might not want to do them with your sore muscles... 😬 You might as well content yourself with swimming in the Bay of Morlaix, to really relax, in the sun, on warm sand 🏖️. In Brittany, sure the landscape is beautiful, but the gastronomy is too. So, to recover well, we have some advice 😉. As they say seaside, think seafood and there, they're more than tasty 🦞. Well, it's not to everyone's taste, we know, so if you're not too fond of that, turn to the Breton pancakes, they're sure bets 🥞.

With all this, your ticket is surely already booked, you just have to train 🌬️.

5 reasons to join this race

We start together and finish together 🔐
This event is not here to promote individual performance but rather cohesion and team spirit 🧠. With formats achievable in 2, 4, or 6, the challenge allows for real strategies to be formed, together, to experience an exceptional adventure. In groups, memories are often more memorable 😉. Sure, there's physical prowess to achieve, but this adventure also offers real sporting AND collective disconnection 👯.
Not just a little hilly 😹
In general, by the sea, we head out hands in pockets, not thinking about elevation 📈. Big mistake, there's actually a little bit everywhere! For this challenge, in total, it's only 90 m gain on paper, but since there are lots of little ups and downs planned, in the long run, it'll strain your calves 😬.
A record that makes your head spin 😵‍💫
In a 24-hour challenge, the points are real challenges 🔥. The goal here is to get the maximum. No matter your final tally, given what you've done, you'll be incredibly proud 🤪. Just so you know, the record for the T24 is 1,204 points, with 18 km of swimming, 442 km of biking, and 132 km of running, all challenges combined! ⚡️ For individual entries, in Carantec, among women, it’s 622 points and 863 points for men.

A few more words

And here we go for a crazy triathlon. A 24-hour program, with one goal: to do the longest possible triathlon. Whether you are in a duo, in a relay of 4 or 6 or alone, good luck, it will surely be tough tomorrow 😆.

It all starts with 4 hours of swimming 🏊. With a lap of 1,000 m, which must be completed as many times as possible 🔄. All laps will end with an Aussie exit, but don’t act like a kangaroo and save your energy to have the most points at the end 🦘. Speaking of points, each kilometer will earn 15 points, so do your best to get as many as possible! ➕

After this nice little warm-up, in the late afternoon, it’s off to 12 hours of cycling. Yes, yes, it promises to make for a beautiful night for all participants. A loop of 20.8 km with 37 mD+, will be prepared and completed as desired 😋. Beware of the rolling hills and challenging paths in front of you, as you can quickly get caught up by the enchanting landscapes... 😵‍💫 Here, 1 kilometer = 1 point, so pedal hard to get through this evening quickly ⚡️.

To finish, what better than waking up running? 👐 4 + 12 = 16, the calculations are quick, there are 8 hours left to complete this challenge. If no one is lost, since it's a triathlon, the end will be on foot 🏃‍♀️. You'll have to dig into the deepest reserves of energy to complete two loops: one of 7 km and 107 mD+ and one of 4 km and 91 mD+ as many times as possible. Just like cycling, here the number of kilometers will be equal to the number of points ✅.

Well, after all this one thing to say: HATS OFF 👏.
