The event in a few words

24 hours without stopping? Yes, you read that right, the T24 Xtrem Triathlon is no joke 😬. Anyway, just in its name you understand, it's an extreme event 😶. With several different destinations, this concept will shock many 💥. Here, meet at the Île de Ré, in the west of mainland France 🇫🇷. Moreover, this triathlon will be perfect to welcome the best season of the year, obviously, we are talking about summer ☀️. Your month of June will thus be punctuated by this challenge, which will get you in shape for the summer holidays (finally, if you have them) 🏖️. By chaining swimming, cycling, and running, you will emerge with your legs on fire 🔥. Well, on the Île de Ré, you will not go above 5m altitude, so you can be sure you'll have no climbs 😹. Certainly, given what is planned, alone it can be daunting, but NO PANIC, you can do all this as a duo or in a relay of 4 or 6! 👯‍♀️

Good enough talk, let us introduce you to the crazy concept that awaits you 🙌. The goal is simple: do the triathlon for as long as possible, in 24 hours 🕛. For this, you have a clear program where you start with 4 hours of swimming 🏊. On a loop of 1,000m you will have to do the most laps possible 🔄. A little advantage, you'll feel like you're on a journey, with an Australian exit for each lap completed! 🇦🇺 No kidding, this is just the beginning of the challenge 💫. After this first stage, it's time for cycling 🚲. A 20 km loop will be in front of you and a piece of advice: enjoy it because you'll be around it for 12 hours, non-stop 🛑. Same principle: the more laps you do, the more points you earn ➕. So then, the night may seem long to you, but save some energy, you have a few hours left ahead of you 👀. If your calculations are correct, you'll quickly understand that there are 8 hours of running left 📋. For this last event, you'll have to give your all to complete the 5 km until exhaustion 🤪. Well, at this stage, unless you have supernatural physical powers, your mind will likely take over to finish this challenge ⚡️.

You might wonder, how does it work to win? ✅ Simply: for every kilometer completed, depending on the discipline, you earn a certain number of points. For swimming, every kilometer will earn you 15 points 🙂. For cycling and running, 1 km will earn you 1 point. Yes, so in the end don't aim for 1,000,000, that will be complicated... 🌧️ For your information, the maximum points acquired in a T24 challenge is 1,204 points! That sets the bar quite high 🧐. By the way, if this concept appeals to you, you won't be disappointed because it exists in other cities! 😄 You'll find it: in Breizh, at Mont-Blanc, and in Bormes-les-Mimosas 📍. Already, to do one, you have to be crazy, might as well push the envelope and do others, right? 😆

WHOOF! That's not a challenge you'll do every day, that's for sure 🥵. But hey, at the end of the day you'll be more than proud of yourself or of you, it's guaranteed! ✊ Given the 24 hours ahead of you, you'll surely want some rest 💤. On the Île de Ré, like on any island, the beaches are numerous 🏝️. A little dip in the Atlantic Ocean is surely what you'll dream of doing after all that! 👙 Plus, on this 85 km2 island, you'll certainly feel disoriented 😍. It is full of diverse landscapes, with well-preserved nature 💖. Let's not forget the final refreshment, which will be well managed by the local food 🍎. Inevitably, on the seaside, you'll have oysters and mussels in abundance, which will taste great 🦪. Little known and yet delicious, the Samphire from the marshes will surprise you! 🫨 Let's finish on a sweet note, to accompany your coffee, have a piece of Charentais galette and you will only have fond memories of this adventure 😉.

With all that, your ticket is surely already reserved, you just have to train 🌬️.

4 reasons to join this race

A record that makes your head spin 😵‍💫
In a 24-hour challenge, points are real challenges 🔥. The goal of this tour is to have the maximum. No matter your final total, given what you've done, the pride will be wild 🤪. Just so you know, the T24 record is 1,204 points, with 18 km of swimming, 442 km of cycling, and 132 km of running, all challenges included! ⚡️ Individually, it's 704 points for women and 902 points for men.
A true flatbread 🥖
On the Île de Ré, the courses will be very rolling, and the elevation is certainly not part of it ❌. With an altitude of 5m maximum, climbs and descents will not be on your route. What will challenge you a bit more will be the big and intense turns 🥵.
Everyone is welcome 🫂

A few more words

And off we go for a crazy triathlon. A 24-hour program, with a single goal: to do the longest possible triathlon. Whether you're in a duo, in a relay of 4 or 6 or solo, good luck, it's sure to pull tomorrow 😆.

For this, you'll start with 4h of swimming 🏊. With a lap of 1,000m, you will need to complete it as many times as possible 🔄. All laps will end with an Aussie exit, but don't mistake yourself for a kangaroo and save your energy to have the most points at the end 🦘. Speaking of points, every kilometer will earn you 15 points, so do your best to earn plenty! ➕

After this nice little warm-up, in the late afternoon, you'll head out for 12h of cycling. Yes, yes, it promises to give you a beautiful night. You'll have a 20 km loop, which you can complete as much as you want 😋. Here, 1 kilometer = 1 point, so just pedal hard to get through this evening as quickly as possible ⚡️.

Finally, what better way to wake up than with a run? 👐 4 + 12 = 16, you quickly understand that you have 8h left to complete this challenge and since it's a triathlon, you'll spend them running 🏃‍♀️. Draw from your remaining energy to complete this 5 km loop as many times as you can. Just like the cycling, here the number of kilometers will be equal to the number of points ✅.

Well, after all this one thing to say: BRAVO 👏.
