Trail Maroc continues to write its history with a new adventure! 🤠 After the resounding success of the first edition, we are excited to announce the return of the Trail Chefchaouen Talassemtane! ❤️ Adding to our calendar after 24 iconic events such as the Trail Amizmiz and the Trail Lac Lalla Takerkoust, this competition promises even more adrenaline and stunning landscapes 🤩. Join an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Rif Mountains! ⛰️ Another success (no doubt) for the organizing team who are committed to offering both exotic and high-quality races, notably thanks to a top-level logistics 📝. Yes, you won't have to worry about anything except enjoying yourself during this event, which will take place in June in Chefchaouen, the beautiful blue city located in the north of Morocco 🇲🇦. The program is amazing: 2 or 3 days of escape in the lush nature 🌱 of Talassemtane Park thanks to a wonderful stage race promising unforgettable memories 💫.
Are you curious? Good! Let's take a closer look at what you will discover. If there's one key piece of information to remember, it's this: everyone can participate ! 🤝 Indeed, the time limits correspond to those of a walker, providing lots of leeway! 👌 Runners 🏃♀️ and walkers 🚶♂️ can coexist in this adaptable event, which allows athletes of all levels to discover the beauty of the region. Depending on your level and availability, you can choose to complete 2 stages or 3 stages 🕺. If you want to set off for a long weekend with the "3 Stages", expect to cover 82 km and 4,228 mD+ in total; while those who wish to do the "2 Stages" will do 44 km and 2,064 mD+ 🥾. It's indeed a real race or hike over multiple days that has been created, with lovely surprises at the end of each! 🎉
The first stage, 38 km and 2,164 mD+, will lead you to the Akchour Hotel (faster or slower depending on whether you're a walker or runner), where you'll welcome participants of the "2 Stages" ✅. The second stage, 25 km and 1,607 mD+, will take you from Akchour to Talassemtane Park, where you'll spend a night camping under the stars 🌌. The third and final stage, measuring 19 km and 457 mD+, will bring you back to Chefchaouen 🔙. But let us set the scene... Imagine yourself, after such a fabulous yet exhausting day, relaxing by a campfire 🔥, your fellow participants by your side, a plate of Moroccan food on your lap 🥘, enjoying the retrospective unfolding before your eyes 🏕️. That's exactly what awaits you if you choose to participate in this unique experience 🤌. We talk about an experience, yes, not just a race, because even though challenging oneself is possible (there is indeed a ranking), that is not the aim of the Trail Chefchaouen 😌. No, the goal is actually simpler: to showcase, through a sports trail ecotourism ♻️, the wealth of Morocco's wettest, preserved, and wildest region. It's in this completely untouched environment, where you'll traverse natural paths, that you'll discover breathtaking landscapes, challenging vertical climbs, canyons 🏜️, green oak and juniper forests 🌳, Berber villages, waterfalls and caves. It's even part of the package! ⚡
Here's the explanation: you won't have to worry about a thing! This race is not at all a self-sufficiency challenge. On the contrary, you'll be fully supported, ensuring that you only have to indulge in the experience 🏃♂️. Thanks to the organizing team of 77 people and a logistics team of 30 people, you won't have to worry about anything. Foreign participants are even taken care of on Sunday night (it's included in the price), while locals can return home 👆. This allows you to catch a flight the next day ✈️ without rushing immediately after the trail. In total, 4 nights full board awaits you, and you'll even be picked up directly from the airport! The bivouac setup in Talassemtane Park will also be entirely handled by the organization. A "LiveTrail" will allow your loved ones to follow your progress remotely, thanks to an app 📲. Courses will always be opened and closed by 2 people to guide and clear away traces of runners' passage 🌀. Site visits will take place at checkpoints where you'll also find quality refreshments 🥤. Every evening, a prize ceremony will take place to award a medal for each new stage completed, with a big medal at stake on the final night 🏅. You will find a top-notch medical team, consisting of 25 people (podiatrists and physiotherapists in particular). Each evening is also punctuated by numerous >animations, shows, and speeches 🤹♂️, making the Trail Chefchaouen as friendly as possible. The retrospectives are sure to warm your heart 💝. You will see footage of the many natural spaces you discovered earlier. But not just that! Visits to Chefchaouen are also planned. This city, located in the northeast of the country, at an altitude of 600 m, at the foot of the mountains Kelaa and Meggou 🗻, boasts remarkable and picturesque beauty comparable to that of a Greek city 🇬🇷.
Why? Well, with its blue and white houses, large stairway corridors, and sunny climate, you might think you're in Santorini (minus the Mediterranean Sea)! The surroundings of the city, especially the Talassemtane National Park, covering nearly 59,000 hectares, is home to 100 bird species 🦅and 700 plant species 🌼, many of which are endemic. It is on the representative list of the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity 📚. Impressive indeed! Thanks to this stage race, you will have the opportunity to see landscapes as diverse as Morocco can offer 👣. A real opportunity to seize! You'll pass by 18 springs, basins, and natural pools 💦 that will offer you a welcomed refreshment in June. In the end, in only 2 or 3 days, you might feel as though you've been to Corsica, in the Alps of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and in the south of France 🇫🇷. Yet, it's in Morocco that you're heading! A country with immense cultural, artistic, gastronomic, and architectural wealth 🤯, with whom we have a close connection. By participating in this trail, you are indeed directly contributing to social actions organized by the Trail Maroc team. Final bonus: the event is indexed to the UTMB and rewards 50K and 20K. What more could you ask for? 🏆
Shall we let you book your plane tickets? Sorry, we have to leave you. We suddenly crave a tagine! 😉
