Westerns and their recognizable settings among many others... 🎞️ Thanks to its deserts and mountains! 🤩 Yes, most of them were filmed in the state of Nevada, not far from the mythical city of Las Vegas 😜. It's perfect because that's where your next adventure will take place: the Ultra X Nevada. This ultra-trail awaits you in the Red Rock Conservation Area and the Spring Mountain Recreation Area, magical places that seem as if they belong to another world! 🤯 One might even say another planet, as these lands resemble Mars with their red rock 😳. Moreover, in October, the dry climatic conditions 🥵 echo its atmosphere! But no worries for you, you'll head to summits over 3,000 meters altitude ⬆️. This stage race of 220 km and 6,415 mD+ is part of the prestigious UTMB® World Series, a challenge worthy of the most adventurous 💪. So, will you dare to take it on? 👀
Before you tackle (and prick yourself on) the cacti 🏜️ you'll encounter in the Mojave Desert 🌵, let's go over your week's schedule! You will arrive on Saturday to settle into the hotel 🏨 and after a night of rest, you'll have a big logistics day: briefing 📖, equipment check, and finally the transfer to the base camp ⛺ at Spring Mountains... 🚌 That's when it gets serious! What follows are 5 days of self-sufficient racing exploring the rugged lands ⛰️. On Monday, the start will be at 6:30 AM (a bit early for a Monday, we admit) for 43 km and 1,411 mD+. You will crisscross the rocky trails from the camp ⛺. Breathtaking panoramas, rocky formations on all sides, an arid vegetation... That will set the pace for the first loop of the week! 😉 On Tuesday, it will be 37 km and 1,443 mD+ that will take you along the paths between Angel Peak and Fletcher Peak, your two running companions of the day 🤝. You will change scenery for a less mountainous but just as sumptuous area! 🥰 On Wednesday, you'll have to tackle 40 km and 1,626 mD+ and it will be worth it! 🥰 You'll complete a loop between the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest 🌲 and the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area immersing you in the settings from the animated movie Cars 🎥. Time to go turbo and feel like Flash McQueen for a day! 🏎️ You'll reach another camp at the end of the trial 🗺️. On Thursday, the penultimate day, there will be a big stage: 59 km and 1,278 mD+. Friday, it'll be time to start the final stage: 40 km, 657 mD+ and 1,455 mD-. The last descent towards the finish arch! 🏁 Your loved ones can even join in during your final challenge, running or walking. We challenge you not to get teary-eyed crossing the finish line (bring tissues just in case 🥺).
After this cocktail of emotions, why not extend your stay and discover the wonders surrounding Mount Charleston? 🗻 You'll need to cross the mountain again (by car this time 🚗) to dive into the electric and overflowing energy of the great Vegas! ⚡️ The shock might be strong switching from the rocky peaks to the casino machines on the Las Vegas Strip 😂. But if the bling-bling side doesn't appeal to you, nature will always welcome you! 🍃 We’re not suggesting hikes, your legs will already be tired from this week 😅. Instead, indulge in a real burger in an old American diner: the authentic taste of the US 🇺🇸.
Come live the American dream on the Ultra X Nevada! 😉
The Ultra X Nevada takes you on a journey for 5 days over 5 stages (220 km) through the mountains of Nevada ⛰️ :
