Ahhh, how beautiful it is! 🥰 Yes, we’re definitely talking about the city of Belgrade, the Serbian capital! 📍 With more than 1.3 million inhabitants, Belgrade can boast of being one of the most dynamic capitals in Europe, and of welcoming more than 13,000 participants to its marathon. Because yes, you’re about to experience an all-out, full-throttle adventure on the asphalt of beautiful Serbia 🚀. The Belgrade Marathon is the event not to be missed in mid-April! 🗓️ This race has a reputation for being lively and unforgettable, and this year they’re celebrating their 40th anniversary—now you really have no excuse; you can’t miss it! 🤓 So that as many people as possible can come share this moment, several distances are offered—a great way to enjoy this city set between the Danube and the Sava 🏞️. What’s more, this year, for the first time, amateur runners will have the chance to take on the same course as the participants in the official European Road Running Championships—pretty classy 😎.
But before taking a dip in one of these two rivers 🏊♂️, how about learning a bit more about the routes and distances? 🤔 We promise it’s worth it! Over a 10 km, a half marathon, or a marathon, you’ll be able to admire all the richness of Belgrade’s historic heritage. Considered the crossroads between the West and the East 🌍, you’re guaranteed to feel transported! And there’s nothing better than combining sport and travel to enjoy a 100% immersive running experience 🧳. Plus, if you don’t want to start on your own and share the half-marathon experience, you can take part as a relay! 🤝
And since Belgrade won’t leave you indifferent during your race, it would be a shame not to enjoy it after you’ve put your trainers away! 👟 After the effort, go explore the Belgrade Fortress, which overlooks the confluence of the Danube and the Sava 😍. For a relaxing moment with family or as a couple, head to Ada Ciganlija Island 🏝️, where you can unwind by the water or try water sports 🚣. And why not taste delicious Serbian cuisine in the bohemian Skadarlija district? 🍽️ If you’re more into culture, the Nikola Tesla Museum awaits you for a deep dive into the world of this genius inventor 🧠. And before you leave, a stop in Novi Sad is a must, just an hour’s drive away, as it will let you discover the charm of this historic city and its famous Petrovaradin Fortress! 🏰
