Attention adventurers and challenge lovers for the month of May: the Ultra X Scotland is back to offer you an unparalleled sporting and sensory experience 🤩. It's in the breathtaking landscapes of the Highlands, in Scotland 🏴 that this mythical race combines extreme effort, full nature immersion, and a hint of myth thanks to its legendary setting around Loch Ness 🐉. Yes, yes Loch Ness... We hope you spot Nessie! 🦕
For this made in Scotland program, you can choose from several distances! ⚡ The longest: Ultra X 110 (110 km over two days, of course) we're talking a remarkable loop starting from Inverness to Dores, split into two stages: 60 km on Saturday and 50 km on Sunday 👣. You'll follow the historic paths of the Great Glen Way and the South Loch Ness Trail, winding through the forests and waterfalls 🌲. Would you like something more with this menu? A sauce perhaps? Yes, a panoramic view sauce over the lochs 🏞️, with an extra night of camping at Fort Augustus to recharge your batteries! 🔌 If you haven't hit the ultra-trail mark (which we understand), you can opt for the 60 km 👌. You'll start on Saturday with your 110 km comrades to reach Dores! 🏃♂️ We can also shorten it with the 50 km the next day. This race is also the second stage of the ultra-trail. Ideal if you want a condensed but just as intense challenge! 🤯 A crossing of Loch Ness is at stake, but beware of the monster! There is also the 25 km race, which, like the previous one, will start on Sunday from Glender Gite, at the Foyers. Although this distance is shorter, it is no less extraordinary! 🥳 And for those new to the trail, a 12 km is offered!
The emotions will be present and will make you want to come back 🥰. With ascents peaking at 699 m 🗻 (Meall Fuar-mhonaidh, the highest point of the race), the Ultra X Scotland is as much a test of your endurance as a celebration of your resilience (we're real poets) 🔮. But the beauty of the Ultra X is that their trails are always very intense, with long distances but still accessible to many types of runners 🔥. The time limits, set every 10 km, must be cleared every 2 hours and 30 minutes, giving you a good margin! 🧨 Little bonus: the races are recognized in the 100K, 50K, and 20K categories of the UTMB Index! 🏆
After pushing your limits, take the time to explore the region's wonders 🏰. Visit the mythical Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness. Or dive into history with the Battle of Culloden field, a site full of emotion. Want to relax after the effort? 🛁 Head to the botanical gardens of Inverness for a relaxing stroll, or organize a picnic on the banks of the Moray Firth to watch the dolphins! 🐬
Venture into the Highlands and prepare for this trail on the lands of Harry Potter! 🧙♂️
A route for the bravest (or the craziest 😵): 110 km of trail to be done in one go. No break, no sleep, no rest ❌.
The profile is identical to that of the Ultra X 60 and the Ultra X 50, as it corresponds to the sum of the two distances 😉.
